Disney Dreamlight Valley Adventure Companions arrive with The Keepsake Sea expansion on 18 November 2026. Dory from Finding Nemo comes with the standard expansion, while Flounder and Sebastian from The Little Mermaid are exclusive bonuses in Deluxe.

Adventure Companions have bonding rewards and can accompany you underwater. Dory also helps you find items in the sea and follows you in a bubble on land. Here’s how each of the three works and which edition you need.

What are Disney Dreamlight Valley Adventure Companions?

Disney Dreamlight Valley Adventure Companions are separate from ordinary cosmetic pets and from the five new Villagers. They’re more like Notable Companions, with rewards to earn as you build a bond with them.

The three named Adventure Companions are Dory, Flounder and Sebastian. They don’t count towards the five new Villagers joining the expansion’s main story.

Dory Standard expansion, unlocked through play Finds items underwater, follows in a bubble on land and earns rewards
Flounder Deluxe Edition bonus Bonding rewards and special quest involving Ariel
Sebastian Deluxe Edition bonus Bonding rewards and special quest involving Ariel

Disney Dreamlight Valley Adventure Companions: how to get Dory

Dory comes with the standard Keepsake Sea expansion and is available to unlock through the new story from 18 November. You won’t find her waiting in your collection as soon as you install the DLC; you’ll have to reach her through gameplay.

Dory can help you find items while exploring underwater. On land, she follows you inside a bubble, so you don’t have to leave her behind when you return to the Valley.

Dory has bonding rewards to earn, too. Exact bonding levels and the items she’ll find will be easier to check in the game after launch.

How do you get Flounder and Sebastian?

Flounder and Sebastian are included with Keepsake Sea Deluxe and with Ultimate Edition 2026, which bundles the base game, Wishblossom Ranch and Deluxe Keepsake Sea content.

Both companions have their own bonding rewards and special quests involving Ariel. They can also accompany you on land and underwater, just like Dory.

You cannot get Flounder and Sebastian simply by completing the standard story. They’re Deluxe extras. If you only buy the standard expansion, Dory is the Adventure Companion you can unlock.

How Disney Dreamlight Valley Adventure Companions help underwater

Yes. Disney Dreamlight Valley Adventure Companions can help you discover items below the waves, and Dory’s item-finding role is part of the new exploration system. All three Keepsake Sea islands have underwater areas to explore.

The exact item-finding rates and bond rewards haven’t been released as a full list, so there’s no useful drop-rate table to memorise before launch.

Are Adventure Companions different from the five new Villagers?

Yes. The five new Villagers are Milo Thatch, Captain Jack Sparrow, Megara, Captain Hook and Wendy. You’ll meet them across Shipwreck Shores, Candy Cove and the Kingdom of Oublié.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Adventure Companions have their own bonding system and underwater roles. Standard expansion owners can work towards Dory and all five Villagers; Deluxe adds Flounder and Sebastian.

When do Disney Dreamlight Valley Adventure Companions become available?

The Keepsake Sea releases on 18 November 2026 with the full main story available from the start. Dory and the five Villagers can be unlocked through the story. Flounder and Sebastian come with Deluxe content.

If you mainly want Dory and underwater exploration, the standard edition is enough. Choose Deluxe if you also want Flounder, Sebastian, their bonding rewards and Ariel-related quests.

The Disney Dreamlight Valley Adventure Companions system gives sea exploration an extra reward loop, but individual bond levels and unlock quests need to be checked once the expansion is live.
