Disney Dreamlight Valley Lieutenant Monkey is the pirate companion on the Seafaring Star Path’s first reward page. You’ll need Premium access and 100 Dubloon Tokens to claim it. Premium costs 700 Moonstones, or 1,100 Moonstones for the version that includes 50 Dubloons to spend straight away.

It is a limited-time event reward, not one of the monkeys you befriend on Eternity Isle. The Seafaring Star Path began on 21 October 2026 and Gameloft advertises it through 2 December. You can unlock Lieutenant Monkey without buying The Keepsake Sea expansion, which is due on 18 November.

Buying Premium only unlocks access to the tile. You must also earn or receive enough Dubloons and spend 100 of them to get the Disney Dreamlight Valley Lieutenant Monkey. Look for the companion in the upper-left tile on reward page one.

How to collect the monkey step by step

  1. Launch Dreamlight Valley and open the Events menu.
  2. Select Seafaring Star Path and purchase either Premium option if you haven’t already.
  3. Open Duties and work on the visible tasks, claiming each completed duty to receive Dubloon Tokens.
  4. Once your balance reaches 100 Dubloons, select Rewards and return to page one.
  5. Choose the upper-left Lieutenant Monkey tile and confirm the 100-token purchase.
  6. Open Inventory → Wardrobe → Companions to equip your new first mate.

Once you’ve claimed the Disney Dreamlight Valley Lieutenant Monkey, you can equip it like other critter companions and take it around the Valley. No Eternity Isle monkey feeding is involved, and you don’t need to wait for the upcoming expansion.

Fastest way to get 100 Dubloons

The 25 standard Seafaring duties pay 350 Dubloon Tokens in total. They begin with simple jobs: catching ten fish gives ten, petting a companion five times gives five, and collecting 15 Seaweed from Dazzle Beach gives ten. Mining gems, feeding Sea Turtles Seaweed and shopping at Scrooge’s are other early options.

If your goal is the Disney Dreamlight Valley Lieutenant Monkey, avoid spending those first 100 tokens on motifs or clothing. You can complete the duties before choosing a reward. Premium raises the number of active Duty slots from three to six, so it lets you combine jobs like Dazzle Beach fishing and collecting seaweed more efficiently.

The three week-one Routine Duties are another way to reach the Disney Dreamlight Valley Lieutenant Monkey sooner. Catch 20 fish, sell 50 seafood and cook ten Tuna Burgers for 30 tokens in all. They also unlock the Coral Crown in the separate Vault. Gameloft’s rules say released weekly duties stay available, so you needn’t rush to finish all three before the next set opens on 28 October.

700 or 1,100 Moonstones: which should you buy?

For the Disney Dreamlight Valley Lieutenant Monkey alone, the 700-Moonstone Premium track is sufficient. It unlocks the companion tile and six active duty slots. The 1,100-Moonstone option includes 50 Dubloons, so you need to earn only 50 more for the monkey. It doesn’t unlock a second, different companion or guarantee that all the Star Path’s rewards are claimed automatically.

You can later exchange leftover tokens for Moonstones on the bonus page, once you’ve collected the main rewards. If you intend to complete the full event anyway, paying extra simply for the early tokens may be less important than it first looks.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Lieutenant Monkey: gathering and friendship

After you equip the Disney Dreamlight Valley Lieutenant Monkey, it follows you around the Valley, can appear in photographs and can be placed in a Companion Home. Companions also have friendship levels that increase as you spend time with them and complete activities. You can inspect that progress under Collections and Companions.

The wider companion system rewards you for levelling your pets: at friendship level three, the normal inventory bonus increases from three to seven slots, and level four adds a chance of extra resources according to the companion’s type. The exact individual friendship reward list for Lieutenant Monkey has not been fully documented, so don’t assume it grants bananas or a particular decoration. This is an animal companion, not one of the new underwater Adventure Companions coming with The Keepsake Sea.

Why isn’t the monkey showing up in Wardrobe?

If the Disney Dreamlight Valley Lieutenant Monkey is missing from your Wardrobe, check that you actually redeemed the companion’s 100-Dubloon tile. Paying for Premium alone won’t add it to your collection. The pet belongs under Inventory, Wardrobe, Companions, not character outfits or furniture.

If the tile is greyed out, check both your Premium status and Dubloon balance on Seafaring. The Haunting Elegance Star Path has its own Premium purchase and Pumpkin Tokens, which cannot be used here. Claim the Disney Dreamlight Valley Lieutenant Monkey before the Seafaring reward window ends.
