Beast of Reincarnation Update 1.1.01 Patch Notes: Story Skip, FOV and Fixes

Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01 arrived on October 9, 2026, and changes how you can move through the story. After Great Wall Terraces, you can skip three entire regions on the way to the Capital. PC players also get a Field of View adjustment, while cutscenes, combat controls and environmental issues have been addressed.

That shortcut isn’t simply a convenient fast-travel option. There are consequences for achievement hunters, particularly on a first playthrough. Here’s what the update actually changes, which fixes are included and why taking the normal mountain journey can still be the better choice.

New story route after Great Wall Terraces

The biggest feature of Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01 is a new decision after completing the mid-game Great Wall Terraces Zone. You can follow the normal Mountain Route or pick Hasten to the Capital, which bypasses Pilgrim’s Zone, Matsukawa Colony Zone and Fuji Frontier Zone. The developers say the alternative is there for players focused on reaching the next part of the story, and for New Game+ players who want a faster replay. It isn’t a new main-menu game mode or separate paid DLC.

Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01: Why the shortcut can block achievements

Taking Hasten to the Capital on a New Game run prevents achievements obtainable in the three skipped regions from being earned in that same run. Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01 does not provide a definitive list of affected achievement names, nor does it say your entire account’s achievements are permanently lost. If you want to cover everything on your first playthrough, take Mountain Route. Players who have already skipped the regions can earn the affected achievements during New Game+ by selecting Mountain Route and completing the necessary objectives.

FOV slider in the PC Options menu

Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01 adds a Field of View adjustment on PC. Open Options on the patched build and look for the FOV control. This is separate from the Close, Medium and Far camera-distance options that appeared in an earlier update. Game Freak hasn’t given an official recommended FOV number, confirmed adjustment range or technical breakdown of every affected camera angle. Make a small adjustment in an area you know and compare how much you can see around Emma before settling on a value.

Hide or show cutscene skip prompts

A new Settings toggle allows the skip prompts in cutscenes and events to be shown or hidden. That doesn’t remove the option to skip eligible scenes; it changes how the on-screen instruction is displayed. The patch also adjusts the pacing of dialogue and how several cutscenes are staged. Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01 fixes subtitles that could remain visible after skipping, soft locks caused by skipping certain scenes rapidly, and unnatural character positions or camera angles after a skip.

Entanglement Overdrive and lock-on fixes

The developers fixed a control issue in which manually cancelling Entanglement Overdrive unintentionally toggled target lock-on. They also addressed a separate camera bug: cancelling a strongbox opening sequence while activating Koo’s Bloom Art could leave the camera locked to Koo. Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01 is intended to correct those specific interruptions, not introduce a new targeting system. If those problems affected your combat or exploration, make sure the October 9 build is installed before testing the interactions again.

Koo, staggered enemies and the missing manual

The patch corrects situations where Koo used items on staggered enemies, along with a staggered-status graphic that could remain on screen after it was supposed to disappear. It also fixes an issue preventing the Manual: Explosive Arrow from a Keeper Golem from being obtained in New Game+. That final change is particularly useful for players chasing collectibles across multiple runs. Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01 names the specific manual; it doesn’t promise that every other missed collectible will be handed to your inventory automatically.

Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01: Performance, clipping and water collision

Under the hood, Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01 distributes some effect-generation processing to improve general performance. There are also fixes for gaps in environmental geometry, clipping objects and unnatural invisible walls across regions. The developers adjusted water submersion detection and collision boundaries as well. These notes don’t establish an exact frame-rate improvement for every PC or suggest all traversal problems have vanished. If a particular route previously trapped Emma or interfered with movement, it’s worth testing again after the patch.

Is there a different console version?

The official English announcement is headed PC patch v1.1.01. Some console update reports identify the October 9 build as 1.012 or 01.012.000, so don’t assume the labels are identical across storefronts. Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01 confirms the new PC FOV setting; console-specific options should be checked in the actual version notes and Options menu before promising they behave exactly the same. The route choice itself is described in the developer’s October notes, with the exact location after Great Wall Terraces.

What’s next for Beast of Reincarnation?

Game Freak and Fictions said the following patch was tentatively planned for October 19, with the date not yet final. They described it as the end of the current run of frequent major post-launch updates, not an announcement that the game will never be supported again. Beast of Reincarnation update 1.1.01 is already available; the later date is a possible follow-up, not a delayed release for this patch. Any revised schedule should come from the game’s official Steam announcements.
