Beast of Reincarnation Missable Achievements became a more important question with the October 9 patch. Once you clear Great Wall Terraces, the new Hasten to the Capital choice can remove your chance to earn achievements tied to three zones in the current New Game run.
The change doesn’t mean they’re lost forever. It does mean players hoping to finish their trophy and achievement work in one cycle should pay attention before accepting the shorter journey. Here’s how the route choice affects completion and what New Game+ does differently.
The three areas affected
Pilgrim’s Zone, Matsukawa Colony Zone and Fuji Frontier Zone are the three areas named in Game Freak’s announcement. Skipping them on New Game blocks achievements that are obtainable there during that run. Beast of Reincarnation Missable Achievements should therefore be discussed by region, not as a fabricated list of exact trophy titles that the October patch never supplies. The warning is about losing the opportunity to meet those conditions while bypassing the areas on your current journey.
Why this changed with patch 1.1.01
Previously, the normal story path took you through these areas. The October update gives you a choice after the Great Wall Terraces: play Mountain Route as before or use Hasten to the Capital. That new option creates the risk. The game isn’t randomly disabling an achievement just because you updated it; you’re choosing a path that doesn’t pass through the relevant areas. Beast of Reincarnation Missable Achievements can be avoided on a first run simply by continuing through the normal route.
Beast of Reincarnation Missable Achievements: What about Pilgrim’s Zone?
This is the first region bypassed by the new shortcut. Pilgrim’s Zone contains its own exploration content and challenges, so don’t treat the skip as though it has marked them all completed. If you want to earn as much as possible before finishing New Game, explore this area on Mountain Route and check the game’s achievement and item progress before leaving. The developer’s warning does not list each Pilgrim’s trophy individually, which is why the safest advice concerns the entire region.
Matsukawa Colony Zone
The second region in the skip is called Matsukawa Colony Zone in the patch notes, although some older walkthroughs shorten it to Matsukawa Zone. They’re referring to the same stretch of the route. Beast of Reincarnation Missable Achievements information can look confusing when those names differ from one guide to another. If your goal involves Matsukawa, choosing Mountain Route guarantees that you at least travel through it during the current story rather than bypassing it through the new option.
Don’t forget Fuji Frontier Zone
Fuji Frontier Zone is also skipped, so the warning isn’t limited to one or two areas immediately after Great Wall Terraces. Before October 9, collectibles guides assumed you’d encounter Fuji Frontier on the main path. That assumption is no longer safe for someone who takes the shortcut. If you’re aiming for a thorough first run, visit Fuji Frontier and work on its completion tasks in the normal sequence. Does New Game+ let you earn them?
Yes. The October 9 notes expressly say you can unlock the achievements on New Game+ by choosing Mountain Route. They aren’t permanently erased from your account. Beast of Reincarnation Missable Achievements are best thought of as extra work if you skip them on your original playthrough, rather than a reason to wipe your save or start over immediately.

Collectibles can be connected to trophies such as shrine, campsite and document achievements. Existing regional guides catalogue those activities, but the new patch’s warning doesn’t individually say which collectible you can recover later on the same run. A general guide written before the skip existed may also tell you that no region is missable, because the old route visited them all. Check the publication date and whether the author considered the Hasten choice. Beast of Reincarnation Missable Achievements advice has to account for that new branch.
What to select for a one-run completion attempt
Choose Mountain Route after Great Wall Terraces, go through Pilgrim’s, Matsukawa Colony and Fuji Frontier, then continue the story. If you only care about the main plot or are happy to do completion work on New Game+, you can choose Hasten instead. There isn’t a verified complete list of all affected achievement titles in the announcement, nor a documented reversal option. Beast of Reincarnation Missable Achievements are easiest to avoid by taking the longer path the first time.
