Fortnite Re-Pete Sprite makes reloading faster and gives you a chance to get ammunition back in Treasure Hunters. Its perks help you get a weapon ready again during a fight and make your ammunition last a little longer.
It’s worth knowing that the ammo return isn’t guaranteed. Re-Pete makes reloading quicker, but you’ll still need to keep an eye on your magazine and reserve bullets.
Fortnite Re-Pete Sprite ability explained

The Fortnite Re-Pete Sprite has two weapon perks: increased reload speed and a chance to refund ammunition. The faster reload is the consistent benefit; the ammo refund is chance-based, so don’t assume you can keep firing forever.
That combination is especially useful if you regularly get into fights before you’ve had time to stock up. Re-Pete doesn’t replace finding ammunition, and Epic’s update doesn’t provide a fixed refund percentage or a weapon-by-weapon list.
You’ll still have a reload animation. Use cover while changing magazines instead of relying on the perk to make you safe in the open. It’s there to shorten the gap between firing, not to make you invulnerable.
How to find the Fortnite Re-Pete Sprite
To search for Re-Pete, find a Wanted Poster on a wall around Crossbones Isle. Tear it down to get a Sprite Treasure Map, follow the map to the buried Sprite Chest and open it to find a companion.
A map points you to a Sprite Chest rather than a guaranteed Re-Pete spawn. If the first Chest contains a different Sprite, look for another poster on your route. Epic hasn’t assigned Re-Pete a fixed named location.
Open the Sprites tab in the lobby to check the Fortnite Re-Pete Sprite in your collection. You can view this season’s companions in numbered order, and each Stamp records how you obtained that entry. Select View Info to learn what a Stamp represents.
When Re-Pete is most useful

Re-Pete is a useful pick if you tend to take several fights close together. Faster reloads help you prepare for another exchange, while occasional ammo refunds can leave more bullets available for the next one.
For example, you might finish one fight with a nearly empty magazine and hear another opponent nearby. Getting your weapon ready sooner is helpful, but taking cover and checking your ammunition still matters. No particular weapon is singled out for an additional bonus in Epic’s description.
Plundarrgh and Chester are better suited to Chest-focused routes. Plundarrgh boosts movement and Pickaxe speed when you open Chests, while Chester offers extra loot chances and cancels fall damage. Re-Pete is the combat-focused option when you want less downtime reloading.
Fortnite Re-Pete Sprite Fortune and Cursed variants
Fortune Re-Pete reveals nearby Chests, which can help you stock up before a fight. Cursed Re-Pete improves the chance of finding rare Sprite variants, but you’ll take damage in water. That drawback matters on Crossbones Isle, where a shortcut across water can quickly become a bad decision.
Both variants retain Re-Pete’s basic purpose. The added Fortune or Cursed ability doesn’t make an ammunition refund certain, so keep collecting bullets as you normally would.
Levels, mastery and collection progress
The Fortnite Re-Pete Sprite also contributes to Sprite Mastery. Look under the Treasure tab to track Gizmo rewards, including Lucky Locators and Golden Fireworks. Mastering 40 Sprites earns the Navigator’s Nosedive Umbrella, while the Sprites tab shows the companions you’ve collected.
Mastery Monday doubles Sprite XP and Sprite Dust every Monday from 6 AM Pacific / 9 AM Eastern / 2 PM GMT / 3 PM Central European Time, beginning 2 November 2026. Epic also increases the number of Sprite Chests and Wanted Posters during the event, so there are more opportunities to search for new companions.
The Fortnite Re-Pete Sprite is a straightforward pick for players who want their weapons ready sooner and a chance to save ammunition. It won’t win the fight on its own, but both perks can help when another enemy appears before you’ve finished restocking.
