Fortnite Plundarrgh Sprite increases Pickaxe speed and movement speed when you open Chests in Fortnite Treasure Hunters. It turns a normal looting run into a chance to move faster around Crossbones Isle.

You don’t need to win a fight to activate Plundarrgh. Find a Chest, open it and make use of the speed boost while you carry on exploring.

Fortnite Plundarrgh Sprite ability explained

The Fortnite Plundarrgh Sprite activates when you open a Chest. Your Pickaxe becomes faster for harvesting or breaking obstacles, and the movement boost helps you get to the next place without spending as long crossing open ground.

That makes it different from Chester. Chester can add extra loot from a Chest; Plundarrgh helps you move and harvest after opening one. Don’t expect the perk to give you another weapon or more ammunition.

The speed bonus is linked to opening Chests, not to carrying them or leaving loot on the ground. Its published description doesn’t give a duration or stacking amount, so plan your route around finding more Chests rather than relying on a permanent boost.

How to get the Fortnite Plundarrgh Sprite

Plundarrgh

Look for Wanted Posters on walls around Crossbones Isle. Tear one down and it becomes a Sprite Treasure Map. Follow the map to the buried Sprite Chest and open it to collect the Sprite inside.

The map leads to a Sprite Chest, not specifically to Plundarrgh. Search more posters and buried Chests if the first one gives you a different companion. There isn’t a single named Plundarrgh spawn in Epic’s season notes.

After collecting a Sprite, open the Sprites tab in the lobby. You can sort this season’s companions in numbered order, check their acquisition Stamps and select View Info to see what each Stamp means.

How to use Fortnite Plundarrgh Sprite in matches

A good match for Plundarrgh is a Chest-heavy landing spot. Loot one building, open its Chests, then use the movement boost to head towards the next group. It gives you something useful just for following your normal loot route.

The mobility bonus can also help when you need to leave an area before the Storm closes in. It won’t tell you where opponents are, though, so don’t let the extra speed tempt you into running straight through an exposed fight.

Choose Chester instead if you want a chance at extra Chest loot and fall-damage protection. Wayfinder reveals nearby Sprites and can add extra loot from buried Chests. Those are better collecting perks; Plundarrgh is the one to choose when speed is what your route needs.

Fortnite Plundarrgh Sprite variants and mastery

The Fortune variant reveals nearby Chests, making it easier to find places to trigger Plundarrgh’s speed perk. The Cursed variant improves your chances of finding rare Sprite variants, but you take damage in water. Those are additional variant effects, not different published speed values.

There’s a collection reason to track down the Fortnite Plundarrgh Sprite too. The Sprite Mastery track under the Treasure tab offers Lucky Locators, Golden Fireworks and other Gizmos. Mastering 40 Sprites earns the Navigator’s Nosedive Umbrella. The Sprites tab keeps track of the companions you’ve found.

Mastery Monday doubles Sprite XP and Sprite Dust every Monday from 6 AM Pacific / 9 AM Eastern / 2 PM GMT / 3 PM Central European Time, beginning 2 November 2026. Epic also increases Wanted Poster and Sprite Chest availability during this event, giving collectors extra opportunities to explore.

If you tend to open plenty of Chests, the Fortnite Plundarrgh Sprite fits neatly into the way you already play. Keep hunting with Wanted Posters for collection progress, and use the speed bonus to get more done between Chests.
