Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming is Chapter One of The Last Days of Lordaeron prologue. You play as Garek Bandarion and Landen, starting with a Capital City patrol before Arthas’s return turns the mission into an escape. Both heroes must enter the palace together to trigger the next part of the story. Collect the Bouquet of Roses from the florist and deliver it to the terrace. Bring both heroes into the palace, escape with them alive, cross the bridge and defeat the Abomination.
There are optional city errands during the opening patrol, including helping Alicia with her cart and an unusual rabbit encounter. Those rewards are worth exploring for, but you do not need them to finish the main mission. This walkthrough follows the on-screen quest updates and keeps the optional stops separate from the route to the ending.
Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming main objectives
| Stage | Objective |
|---|---|
| Patrol the City | Deliver the roses to the terrace |
| Enter the Palace | Move Garek and Landen to the palace entrance together |
| The Death of Lordaeron | Escape the palace with Garek and Landen alive |
| Cross the bridge | Get across the city bridge with your survivors |
| Final encounter | Defeat the Abomination and finish the closing scene |
In Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming, pressing F9 brings up the quest journal. Check it whenever you are uncertain which stage you are on: the roses delivery marks the patrol step complete, but you still have to enter the palace. Reaching the bridge similarly isn’t the end of the chapter; the final encounter comes afterward.

Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming: Roses and palace entrance
Follow the patrol with Garek and Landen, then visit the florist for the Bouquet of Roses. Bring it to the palace terrace to complete the delivery. The next objective is Enter the Palace. Move both heroes to the entrance together: a game hint requires Garek and Landen at the Circle of Power, so arriving with just one hero will not advance the story.
Before going inside, you can finish any city errands you want to attempt. You are still in the relatively calm patrol phase, and those small quests give you a chance to learn the hero controls and inventory interface before the combat-heavy section. The city changes after Arthas’s return, so don’t leave optional errands until after the escape has begun.
Alicia’s cart and the optional rabbit quest
In Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming, Alicia needs a new wheel for her cart. Speak to her during the patrol, retrieve the wheel and return it. The optional quest awards Alicia’s Favor, an item reported to reduce mana costs. Its completion also introduces the Backpack screen: open it to inspect equipment rather than assuming everything picked up is equipped.
You can find the Tiny Rabbit in the city’s back-alley area. Return it to the Strange Rabbit to finish the errand and collect a Potion of Restoration. Another optional encounter involves drunkards causing a disturbance. These side activities are not requirements for entering the palace. If you want to complete every side activity, do them while the patrol is still active; otherwise, proceed with the main quest.

Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming: Escape the palace
After entering the palace and completing the story sequence, Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming switches into The Death of Lordaeron. The objective is to escape the palace while Garek and Landen survive. Follow the opened corridor route and fight through the enemies blocking the exit instead of retracing the earlier patrol.
Watch both hero health bars closely. If either is badly hurt, pull him behind the remaining guards and let other units take pressure while you regroup. You can save during a quieter moment before committing to another encounter. Losing Garek or Landen fails the main survival condition, so pushing forward with only one hero won’t finish the chapter.
Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming: Bridge and Abomination
The next Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming checkpoint is crossing the bridge outside the palace. Keep your party together, clear enemies on the approach and move far enough across for the objective to update. Recorded gameplay shows Cross the bridge (Completed), so reaching the far side is a distinct quest step and not the end of the mission.
An Abomination encounter follows. Regroup and recover before engaging it, then focus attacks while protecting Garek and Landen. If a hero is close to death, move him away from the fight rather than allowing the mission to fail. After the Abomination is defeated, let the cinematic finish; the story leads the survivors toward the sewers and the next prologue mission.
Why Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming is stuck
If Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming is not progressing, open F9 and check the active quest. If the palace entrance doesn’t activate, confirm the roses were delivered and bring both Garek and Landen to the entrance together. The game specifically requires both heroes. During The Death of Lordaeron, both heroes must survive the escape. After crossing the bridge, the Abomination must still be defeated. Optional rabbit and cart quests are not completion requirements.
If the palace escape has finished but the chapter continues, check the bridge objective. If the bridge is marked complete, proceed to the Abomination. The cart and rabbit errands will not block these main objectives. The chapter finishes only after the final encounter and closing sequence. Our prologue overview explains the order of these early missions, and the difficulty guide can help if the escape is proving difficult.
What comes after Homecoming?
After Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Homecoming, continue to the second Last Days of Lordaeron chapter, Treachery. The prologue contains four linear missions: Homecoming, Treachery, Siege and Vengeance. The main Forsaken Kingdom campaign begins afterward with a more open RPG structure involving equipment and hero talents.
See the mission list, chapters guide and campaign overview if you are unsure where the prologue fits into the full story. The hero guide covers the broader progression systems introduced later.
