Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Chapters are split into two separate numbering sequences. The Last Days of Lordaeron has four playable chapters, then the main Forsaken Kingdom campaign starts again at Chapter One and runs for three chapters.
That reset is why searching for ‘Chapter 3’ can land you in the wrong walkthrough. In the prologue, Chapter Three is Siege. In the main campaign, Chapter Three is War of the Damned.
Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Chapters at a glance
| Section | Chapter | Name | Style |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prologue | 1 | Homecoming | City patrol and survival |
| Prologue | 2 | Treachery | Sewer escort and escape |
| Prologue | 3 | Siege | RTS rebuilding and tower control |
| Prologue | 4 | Vengeance | Stratholme assault |
| Main campaign | 1 | City of the Dead | Soft-open RPG / Undercity hub |
| Main campaign | 2 | A Scarlet Flame | Forsaken vs Scarlet Crusade |
| Main campaign | 3 | War of the Damned | Scourge / Naxxramas finale |
Those seven playable entries are the core Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Chapters. There is also the opening cinematic A Lone Ship, the prologue interlude Lightbringer and the main-campaign interlude A Looming Shadow.
Prologue Chapter One: Homecoming

The first of the Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Chapters starts before Lordaeron understands what Arthas has become. Garek serves in the Capital City Guard under Landen, dealing with ordinary city duties while the prince’s return approaches.
The mission shifts hard once events in the throne room unfold. What starts as patrol work becomes an escape through a city collapsing into Scourge violence, setting up the much darker second chapter.
Prologue Chapter Two: Treachery
Treachery is the sewer chapter in the Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Chapters. Garek and Landen lead civilians through the tunnels, deal with a broken gate mechanism and eventually face Baron Rivendare’s pursuit.
The chapter is more puzzle-like than Homecoming in places, including three missing cogwheels and an optional Broodmother encounter. It also contains one of the defining moments in Garek’s early story.
Prologue Chapter Three: Siege
Siege is where the prologue side of the Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Chapters becomes a more recognisable RTS mission. Garek reaches the outskirts of Andorhal, rescues Ilastar, repairs settlements and builds enough strength to contest the city.
The major push revolves around taking and holding four guard towers while allied forces work around the battlefield. Optional Plague Cauldron objectives make exploration worthwhile before the final confrontation with Ras Frostwhisper.
Prologue Chapter Four: Vengeance
Vengeance closes the first set of Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Chapters in Stratholme. Garek and Ilastar move through the ruined city, open the route through separated paths and eventually confront Baron Rivendare.
Our complete prologue guide is the better page if you want the objectives rather than just the chapter structure.
Main Chapter One: City of the Dead
The numbering resets here. City of the Dead is Chapter One of the main Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Chapters, with Garek waking as Forsaken beneath Lordaeron and Anya introducing him to his new existence.
It establishes the Undercity as more than a backdrop. Putress, Keever, Bernd and Glix all have work for you, while the Scarlet Crusade thread and Garek’s lost memories pull the main story forward.
Main Chapter Two and Three
A Scarlet Flame is the second main chapter in the Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Chapters, escalating the Scarlet Crusade conflict. After the A Looming Shadow interlude, War of the Damned becomes the final playable chapter.
War of the Damned brings Naxxramas, Kel’Thuzad, Rivendare and Garek’s relationship with the Light into the same final arc. If you want the spoiler-heavy outcome, the ending guide is better saved until you are genuinely finished.
How the chapter structure changes the game
The most interesting thing about the Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Chapters is that the chapter reset also marks a design reset. The prologue is a chain of crafted RTS missions; the main campaign behaves more like one long hero progression adventure broken into acts.
That is also why Blizzard’s roughly 30-hour estimate makes sense despite only seven playable chapter names. Our mission list is the quickest reference, while the campaign guide explains how to play the two halves differently.
