Suoming ascension materials in Wuthering Waves total 46 Forged Empyrean’s Sigh, 60 Miasmic Branch, four LF Howler Cores, twelve MF Howler Cores, twelve HF Howler Cores and four FF Howler Cores. Those are the items for all six character breakthroughs, not the separate cost of raising experience, upgrading Forte skills or levelling Unspoken Rue.
Gather Miasmic Branch and Howler Cores while exploring Mengzhou, then spend Waveplates on the Calamity Effigy boss for the ascension drops. Your Forte skills also need the weekly Suhsin the Inevitable material, so begin that separate farm early. The tables below give the costs of each level cap and help you avoid taking more boss rewards than your next upgrade needs.

The six ascension fees total 170,000 Shell Credits. Gaining experience from level 1 to 90 also requires approximately 853,300 Shell Credits and 121 Premium, two Advanced and two Basic Resonance Potions. Those levelling expenses are not part of the Suoming ascension materials table. For the level 70 cap, you need 18 copies of Forged Empyrean’s Sigh and 24 Miasmic Branch, not the final totals of 46 and 60.
Where to get Forged Empyrean’s Sigh
Calamity Effigy in Xuanfang Hold provides Forged Empyrean’s Sigh. Progress far enough in the Mengzhou story to access the encounter, select the boss through the Guidebook and defeat it to claim the reward using Waveplates. Your Suoming ascension materials budget should begin with this boss because you need 46 drops for all six breakthroughs, whereas gathering specialities doesn’t use stamina.
The boss material requirements rise by stage: three, six, nine, twelve and sixteen. Check the ascension panel after each breakthrough. The Simulacrum of the Heart quest guide covers progression through the surrounding region.
Where to collect Miasmic Branch
For Suoming ascension materials, Miasmic Branch grows in the Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou. Search the Heartscape Labyrinth and Heart of Stillness areas, using nearby Resonance Beacons to revisit the gathering points. The Huaxu Apothecary in Xuanfang Hold also offers a limited weekly supply, reported as 15 branches for 3,000 Shell Credits each. Check its stock before waiting for wild nodes to refresh; combining the shop and exploration can cover the 60-branch requirement much faster.
The cumulative Suoming ascension materials requirement for branches rises from four to twelve, twenty-four, forty and finally sixty. That makes gathering a few whenever you pass a source worthwhile even if you cannot yet claim the next boss drop.
How to farm Howler Cores
Howler-type Tacet Discords drop the LF, MF, HF and FF Howler Core material family. Use the item source tracker to find the right enemy group and defeat Howlers as you travel. Lower grades can be synthesised into higher ones. However, don’t convert all low-grade cores if the next Suoming ascension materials step still needs them directly.
The character ascension totals are four LF, twelve MF, twelve HF and four FF Howler Cores. Forte skills need extra cores beyond these totals, and the signature weapon has a separate upgrade cost. Keep those systems distinct when deciding how many enemies to farm.
Forte materials and Remnant of the Wheel
Suoming’s Forte tree also requires Wing Polarizers, more Howler Cores and Remnant of the Wheel from the weekly Suhsin the Inevitable boss. The weekly reward limit makes this material worth claiming early, especially if you’re building Hsin alongside Suoming. A fully upgraded Forte tree, including all five level-10 skills, eight stat bonuses and both Inherent Skills, requires 26 Remnant of the Wheel, 25 Broken Wing, 28 Monowing, 55 Polywing and 67 Layered Wing Polarizers, plus 25 LF, 28 MF, 40 HF and 57 FF Howler Cores. The Forte upgrades cost another 2,030,000 Shell Credits. Alongside the 170,000 breakthrough fees, that’s 2,200,000 before character experience levelling or weapon upgrades. These totals are separate from the Suoming ascension materials table above; you can spend much less by upgrading only the skills your rotation uses.
Best order to farm Suoming ascension materials
Begin with your weekly Suhsin claim for Remnant of the Wheel, then run Calamity Effigy in Verdant Court, Xuanfang Hold, for the boss materials needed at the next level cap. Gather Miasmic Branch and defeat Howlers between Waveplate activities, checking the Huaxu Apothecary for extra branches. For Forte upgrades, select a Wing Polarizer Forgery Challenge such as Fallen Sanctum through the Guidebook. Spend Waveplates according to the skill you want to raise, not a generic full-build checklist.
