Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mastery Camos: Chiral, Ripple Tide and Helio Unlocks

Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mastery Camos

Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mastery Camos are Chiral, Ripple Tide and Helio. All three have been officially revealed ahead of DMZ Early Access on 20 October 2026, including their unlock requirements and the challenges you’ll need to complete.

The three weapon finishes have very different objectives. Chiral is built around high-tier enemy kills, Ripple Tide around extracting Lieutenant dog tags, and Helio around Legendary Weapon kills with a max-level Operator. Here’s the exact order and how to track what each one requires.

Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mastery Camos: all unlock requirements

Activision has confirmed the three Mastery stages and their prerequisites. You cannot skip to the final camo simply by meeting its kill requirement: the earlier challenges must be completed first.

Mastery CamoRequirementUnlock condition
Chiral2,500 Tier 3+ enemy killsAcquire Divergence Completionist and complete the required Harmonic Break challenges
Ripple TideExfil two LT dog tags in one deployment, 50 timesComplete Chiral
Helio25,000 kills with Legendary Weapons on a max-level OperatorComplete Ripple Tide

These are the exact objectives from Activision’s 19 October progression guide. Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mastery Camos are different from the three Multiplayer Mastery Camos and the separate Warzone track.

Chiral: the first DMZ Mastery Camo

Before you can begin grinding for Chiral, unlock the first Mastery challenge by acquiring the Divergence Completionist Weapon Camo and completing the required Harmonic Break Camo Challenges. Those steps unlock access to the 2,500-kill objective.

For Chiral, the actual challenge is to defeat 2,500 enemies classified as Tier 3 or higher in DMZ. Lower-tier enemy kills aren’t what Activision asks for. Track the challenge in the game’s weapon-camo interface rather than relying on your overall kill total.

Among the Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mastery Camos, Chiral is the one with the most straightforward stated task: kill eligible high-tier enemies once the prerequisites are satisfied. Activision hasn’t named a required map location or individual boss for those kills.

Ripple Tide: how the dog-tag extraction challenge works

Ripple Tide is the second camo. Finish Chiral’s Mastery objective first, then extract two Lieutenant dog tags in the same deployment. You have to achieve that successful two-tag exfil 50 separate times.

The words same deployment are important. One LT dog tag extracted during one trip and another during a later trip isn’t a two-tag completion. Both must be carried out in a single successful exfil to satisfy the stated condition.

If you’re working towards the Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mastery Camos, our DMZ Boss Board and Lieutenant guide covers those enemies, and our exfil guide explains the available extraction systems. Focus on preserving your dog tags until you’re safely out rather than picking unnecessary extra fights.

Helio: the final Mastery Camo challenge

Helio is the third and final camo of this set. Its prerequisite is completing the Ripple Tide Mastery challenge. After that, the objective is 25,000 kills using Legendary Weapons while playing as a max-level Operator.

This is more specific than just earning 25,000 DMZ kills. The weapon rarity and Operator level are both conditions named by Activision, so kills with an ordinary weapon or on an Operator who hasn’t reached the maximum don’t meet the described criteria.

Helio is the long-term end goal of the Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mastery Camos. The developer has not published a shortcut that reduces the target. Progressing your Operator and securing Legendary Weapons are the relevant preparations.

Best order to unlock all three

The Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mastery Camos have a fixed progression:

  1. Complete the early Military, Special and Completionist camo progression, including the Divergence requirement and Harmonic Break challenges.
  2. Unlock Chiral and defeat 2,500 Tier 3+ enemies.
  3. Unlock Ripple Tide and successfully exfil two LT dog tags in one run, 50 times.
  4. Unlock Helio and earn 25,000 Legendary Weapon kills on a max-level Operator.

DMZ has a separate 70-level progression track alongside Modern Warfare 4’s 55-level Multiplayer track. Activision says that DMZ XP contributes to the overall Multiplayer player-level progression, but Multiplayer XP doesn’t advance the separate DMZ level. Knowing that difference helps when planning Operator and gear unlocks.

How do DMZ camos differ from Multiplayer and Warzone?

The Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Mastery Camos are earned through DMZ-specific objectives. Multiplayer has Mercurial Drift, Polyatomic Reforged and Orion Reforged instead, while Warzone’s future Season 1 track includes Parallax, Damascus Reforged and Empyros.

Activision has not yet revealed the actual Warzone Mastery challenges, so those three names aren’t alternative paths to Chiral, Ripple Tide or Helio. You can, however, continue working towards the appropriate camo progression in the mode whose tasks you’re targeting.
