Fortnite Save the World Heroic Hours has a dedicated countdown in Homebase after update 42.40. The new display gives players a clearer way to see the schedule instead of relying on community posts or repeatedly checking whether a bonus has started.
It’s a small interface change, but useful if you’re planning missions around Heroic Hours. The countdown does not itself grant Hero upgrades or start a mission. It shows when the event timing applies, so you can make decisions about your session before launching an activity.
Next Heroic Ninja Hours: 24–25 October 2026
The next Fortnite Save the World Heroic Hours feature Ninja on Saturday 24 October and early Sunday 25 October. Round one runs 5–7 PM BST Saturday (4–6 PM UTC; noon–2 PM EDT). Round two is 12–2 AM UTC Sunday (8–10 PM EDT Saturday). In the UK, that second round begins at 1 AM BST, crosses the clocks going back, and ends at 2 AM GMT.
Ninjas gain melee damage and attack speed from ability eliminations; melee eliminations reduce ability cooldowns, and Shadow Stance benefits are doubled. Ranged and trap damage are reduced. Golden Mist Monsters can give Gold, and related Campaign Quests award Llamas. For the full class effects, rewards and clock-change table, open the Fortnite Save the World Ninja Power Hour guide. The Homebase countdown above the Quest Log is still the easiest in-game check for exactly when Heroic Hours activate. Epic’s Heroic Hours announcement lists the event rules.
Where to find the Homebase countdown

Open Save the World and return to Homebase after installing update 42.40. The new Heroic Hours countdown sits above the Quest Log board in Homebase. You’ll see how long remains until the next event without having to leave Homebase or guess from an older schedule.
Fortnite Save the World Heroic Hours should be checked in its own mode. The clock is a scheduling aid; it isn’t the same as the Halloween Power Hour for Battle Royale Sprites.
What the timer tells you
The Homebase countdown shows the time remaining until the next Heroic Hours window. Check it before planning an event session.
The published notes don’t provide a universal clock time for every region. Fortnite Save the World Heroic Hours is more reliable when read directly from the current Homebase clock on the platform you’re using.
Do Heroic Hours require a separate unlock?
The new countdown is a user-interface addition to Save the World. Epic doesn’t specify a questline to earn the timer or an Item Shop purchase required just to see it.
If Fortnite Save the World Heroic Hours isn’t visible, first make sure you’re in the right mode on version 42.40. Check Homebase before assuming you’re missing a paid access item.
Heroic Hours versus Challenge the Rift
Challenge the Rift is a combat encounter that takes four BluGlo and starts a sealed mini-boss fight. Heroic Hours is a timed event feature represented by the new Homebase countdown.
Both appear in the October 15 patch, but Fortnite Save the World Heroic Hours doesn’t cost four BluGlo merely to check its clock. The encounter and the schedule should be treated as different activities.

How it fits around Portal Combat
The Portal Combat questline runs until November 18 and unlocks Grave Feather. Its seasonal deadline is separate from the Heroic Hours schedule. You don’t have to confuse a Hero reward deadline with a shorter event countdown.
Fortnite Save the World Heroic Hours may be useful when planning your session, but the specific Portal Combat objectives should still be completed by following the quest log.
Why the countdown may appear wrong
Check your device’s current date and whether the mode has downloaded its latest update. Event schedules can be displayed in different timezones or adjusted server-side, so the active Homebase timer is the primary reference.
If Fortnite Save the World Heroic Hours changes after a hotfix, don’t continue relying on an old screenshot of the clock. Reopen the game and inspect the live display.
Heroic Hours checklist
Install 42.40, open Save the World, visit Homebase and find the Heroic Hours countdown. Use its live timer when choosing when to play, and keep Portal Combat and Challenge the Rift objectives separate.
Fortnite Save the World Heroic Hours gained a countdown to make the schedule easier to follow. It wasn’t announced as a new Hero itself or a guaranteed extra reward for opening Homebase.
