Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests give you much more to do than simply chasing the Fallen Dragon. There are 23 documented optional quests in Dark Arisen’s snowy northern region, and many are linked together: one small job for a villager can open a new hunt, an escort or a dangerous expedition with a much bigger payout.

Some jobs appear when you arrive, but others won’t be offered until you advance the Forsaken Dominion story. The table below names every side quest, explains what you need to finish first and shows its rewards. Where a quest has several possible endings, those are choices, not a bundle of prizes you collect together.

How to unlock Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests

Most Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests begin around Norgandian Settlement or with commission soldiers. First, finish Chilling Tidings and follow the main story into Norgan. Then speak to the settlement’s residents, check the inn and return after major story events. Our Norgan access guide covers the journey from Captain Brant to Pekdre if you haven’t travelled north yet.

Hammer and Tongs, Relics of the Past, The Stranger in the Snowfield and The Obelisks of Benediction don’t require another Norgan quest first. Completing Chilling Tidings makes the next group of Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests available, including the hound, rabbit-pelt, firepit and monster-culling requests.

Here are all 23 Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests, with the prerequisite, opening objective and rewards. G means Gold and RC means Rift Crystals. “None” under prerequisites means no earlier Norgan quest is needed, although you still have to find the relevant NPC or object.

Some Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests pay different amounts according to how they end. That includes Bout of Passage, Village Defense, Back to the Temple and The Snatching-Beast. The maximum shown is only one possible outcome. For The Obelisks of Benediction, the confirmed attraction is access to vocation-related bonuses, not an established fixed Gold or XP payout.

Which Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests should you do first?

The early Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests are useful partly because they unlock other quests. Ilsa, Ilda, Dwayne and the commission researchers all have follow-up work that you won’t see if you skip their first request. Once you’ve completed Chilling Tidings, speak to them before heading far into the mountains.

The hound quest chain and Skoll’s rewards

Give Ilsa Alpine Hare Meat for In for a Hare, in for a Hound. That leads to A Direwolf Delicacy, then A Hound and His Bone, in which you investigate Skoll’s disappearance. The last quest pays 60,000 XP, three portions of Alpine Hare Meat and either a Treatise on Lupinity or a Hound’s Scent Pouch.

Among the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests, this is an easy chain to miss if you’re only searching the map for major battles. The first errand looks minor, but completing it is how the remaining two become available.

Sticks and Stones unlocks A Howl in the Dark

Collect three heatstones for Ryatt during Sticks and Stones, then return to the researchers to open A Howl in the Dark. The second quest sends you after a blackdog using the Spirit Compass. Together, these Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests teach you about the surrounding terrain while paying Gold, XP and materials.

Dwayne’s monster-culling and fighting quests

Talk to Dwayne after Chilling Tidings to start When the Culling Gets Tough. When it is finished, return for Bout of Passage. The second challenge is a contest, and your outcome changes the reward. Its best documented payout reaches 75,000 XP and 3,000 RC, although other results give less or include curatives.

That variation is important when comparing Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests rewards. You cannot add the different reward lines together and treat them as one guaranteed bundle.

Ilda’s two quests and the night-time escort

Oh, to Be in Vermund asks you to bring Ilda a rabbit pelt. Completing it opens Flight in the Night, where you help her leave the village when Dorin is on patrol. The second pays 70,000 XP and 2,000 RC, with a Regeneration Elixir available on one outcome.

Don’t overlook these Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests while exploring Norgan’s outer areas. The larger payout depends on finishing the short first request, not simply arriving at the escort’s destination.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests after The Castle in the Ice

The Castle in the Ice opens Hal’s Treasure Hunt, No Spoils Get Left Behind and Quilt Me Down with a Feather. The last request sends you after plumes from Gagana’s nest and leads to Back to the Temple, an escort with several possible rewards.

Back to the Temple has one of the strongest optional quest payouts: its best listed result includes 100,000 G, 200,000 XP, 5,000 RC and three level-four Ancient armour spoils. If you’re working through the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests mainly for gear, this is a particularly valuable chain to follow through.

Which quests unlock after Rumbles in the North?

Once you’ve finished Rumbles in the North, you can collect four more Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests: The Truant Soldier, The Snatching-Beast, Village Defense and Reaching the Far Shore. These take you after a missing soldier, stolen supplies, a settlement defence and a route across Lake Norgan.

For The Snatching-Beast, recover as many of the five stolen supplies as possible before returning. All documented reward outcomes provide 40,000 XP, but the Gold and Spoils improve with the outcome. Village Defense always includes the Ring of Toppling, with the XP and Rift Crystal amount changing depending on how the defence goes.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests after Reunion

Two later Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests appear after Reunion. Beyond Ruin-Night begins with a letter in the Norgandian Inn and pays 100,000 XP and 8,000 RC. A Keepsake, for Your Sake starts with Polyeidus and rewards 80,000 XP, 3,000 RC and either a Treatise on Proficiency or ten Norgan Ducats.

If you want one of those choice rewards, pay attention to the final conversation rather than automatically selecting the first available response. The Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests list shows what can be earned, but not every quest allows you to receive all possible endings in one run.

Are Lost Rites included in the 23 side quests?

No. These 23 Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests belong to the Norgan region. Lost Rites is a separate set of twelve dungeon challenges across the original world. Ask Captain Brant about the uncovered ruins to begin that path, rather than the new Arisen conversation that sends you north.

Lost Rites offers Offering Flames, which can be used at Norgan’s Obelisks of Benediction for vocation-specific skills and bonuses. For the relic equipment you find in Norgan, see our appraisal guide for how Jiera identifies the loot you bring back.

The easiest way to finish the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Norgan side quests is to complete the settlement’s first requests, return after major story quests and follow each NPC’s connected errands. You’ll collect better rewards along the way and spend a lot less time wondering why a particular quest hasn’t appeared.
