Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 is the October 6 follow-up to Depths of the Damned, landing only days after 1.13.1 changed the Prophet of Decay encounter and fixed several launch problems. The new hotfix is smaller than the expansion patch, but it targets the kind of crashes, sign-in failures and mission-specific issues that can still make a fresh content drop feel rough even when the headline features are working.
The patch is especially relevant to players running Spillway repeatedly, PC players hitting Backend Error during sign-in, and PS5 users seeing instability around the new texture-streaming system. It also adjusts Havoc behaviour during the Prophet of Decay fight, so anyone using an October 3 guide should know that the current live build has already moved again.
Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 patch notes

Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 is rolling out on all platforms as of October 6, according to Fatshark. The update fixes several rare crashes, corrects mission behaviour in Spillway, updates a PC networking library and improves PS5 stability while keeping two Spillway Penance text problems on the known-issues list.
The most visible mission change is in the Prophet of Decay end event. In Havoc, the Specialist enemy spawn-reduction modifier now applies through the whole boss encounter instead of only during certain phases. Monstrosities created by the Specialists system should also spawn with the intended weakened health.
That makes Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 worth installing before judging current boss difficulty or comparing a run with footage from the launch build. The fight itself has already been touched by 1.13.1 and now receives another Havoc-specific correction.
Spillway crash and pathing fixes
Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 fixes two rare Spillway crashes. One could happen during the first elevator ride, while another could occur when a player hotjoined during the Prophet of Decay fight at the end of the mission.
Fatshark also says enemy behaviour is now more standardised when a team splits across different paths in Spillway. That wording matters because it is a behaviour fix, not a redesign of the mission's symbol system or branching-route mechanic. Players should still follow the correct symbol and expect different route choices between runs.
If Spillway still crashes on the current build, note exactly whether it happens on the first elevator, during a hotjoin, in the boss arena or somewhere else. Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 specifically names those two crash paths, so a repeat after updating is more useful to report as a fresh reproduction.
- Rare crash during the first Spillway elevator ride fixed.
- Rare hotjoin crash during the final Spillway boss fight fixed.
- Enemy behaviour improved when a team splits between paths.
PC Backend Error sign-in fix
For PC players, Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 updates the networking library to address a Backend Error that could appear while signing in. This is one of the clearest player-friction fixes in the hotfix because it targets a failure that can stop the game before the Mourningstar is even reachable.
If you were seeing Backend Error on PC before October 6, install the hotfix and restart the game before changing firewall rules, reinstalling or deleting local data. Fatshark identifies the networking-library change as the fix, so the current client should be the baseline for any new troubleshooting.
PS5 crash and texture streaming fixes
Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 contains two PS5-specific fixes. One resolves a crash caused by server-side correction of weapon actions when invalid haptic feedback was involved.
The second improves the stability of the newer texture-streaming system and targets out-of-memory crashes. That is broader than one mission-specific failure, so PS5 players who were seeing memory-related instability should update before assuming the problem is unchanged.
These fixes do not mean every PS5 crash has the same cause. If the game still crashes after installing Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2, record the mission, action and whether the failure occurred during combat, loading or a weapon interaction.
Psyker aura and long-range tagging fixes
Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 also corrects an ability-cooldown calculation problem involving the Psyker Auras The Quickening and Seer's Presence. Fatshark says the bug could create unintended increases in Ability Charges.
A separate fix addresses difficulty tagging enemies at long range. That is a usability change rather than a balance adjustment, but it matters in missions where players rely on tags to communicate specials and dangerous targets before they reach the team.
Other crashes and cosmetic fixes
Another rare crash fixed by Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 could occur while inspecting another player in the Mourning Star, potentially when that player was disconnecting. Fatshark also fixes an occasional gameplay crash linked to lag spikes.
The cosmetic section is small. Lighting on the Faithbound Flak Helm has been corrected, the Krieg Vigil Greatcoat regains a missing candle flame, and several visual issues with the Faithbound Flak Vest have been fixed.
Terror In The Depths Penance reward names are corrected as well. That is separate from the known difficulty-text problems affecting newer Spillway Penances.
Known issues still present in 1.13.2
Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 still lists two Spillway Penance wording problems as known issues. Some objectives mention completing missions on Damnation on the Auric mission board even though the intended requirement is Auric difficulty.
Other new Spillway Penances still mention Sedition, a difficulty that no longer exists. Fatshark has not marked those descriptions as fixed in 1.13.2, so players should continue following the corrected intent rather than trusting the stale wording.
That means your existing Spillway Penances guide remains relevant after this hotfix. The new update corrects reward names, but it does not remove the two difficulty-description problems.
Should you update immediately?
Yes, especially if you are playing Spillway, using Havoc, signing in on PC or playing on PS5. Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 is not optional if you want the current crash fixes and the latest Prophet of Decay behaviour.
The hotfix does not add a new mission or weapon set, so there is no reason to expect a separate unlock process. Install the update, fully restart the client and then reproduce any old problem once on the current build before applying broad workarounds.
For the October 6 live state, Darktide Hotfix 1.13.2 is now the version to use when comparing guides, reporting bugs or deciding whether an issue from the Depths of the Damned launch window has already been addressed.
