Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2: What’s Included

Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 launches October 9, 2026 as a native Nintendo Switch 2 package containing the Dragon’s Dogma 2 base game and the Dark Arisen expansion. It is the first release of Dragon’s Dogma 2 on Nintendo’s new system rather than a standalone expansion that expects an older Switch copy.

The biggest difference with Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 is packaging. PS5, Xbox and PC players can add Dark Arisen to an existing Dragon’s Dogma 2 installation, while Switch 2 buyers receive the original game and expansion content together.

What is included in Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2?

  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 base game
  • Forsaken Dominion expansion story in Norgan
  • Lost Rites with 12 dungeon challenges
  • New hairstyles and tattoos
  • Dark Arisen expansion systems and equipment
  • Preorder Norgan Fashion Set Northern Attire where eligible

That makes Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 a complete entry point for players who never owned the 2024 game. Nintendo does not require you to buy a separate base-game cartridge or eShop product before accessing Dark Arisen.

Release date

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 releases on October 9 alongside PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Nintendo’s official October schedule and Switch 2 product page both list the same date.

The Nintendo listing does not currently expose one universal UK unlock time. Digital buyers should use the eShop countdown when it appears rather than copying the PlayStation or Xbox hour.

Forsaken Dominion on Switch 2

Forsaken Dominion is the main new story content in Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2. It opens the snowy northern region of Norgan and introduces Eir, the Fallen Dragon storyline and a relic-appraisal system tied to powerful weapons and skills.

Capcom recommends around level 40 when beginning Forsaken Dominion, but that is guidance rather than a locked minimum. Players can access the expansion earlier once they reach Vernworth and speak with Brant.

Lost Rites dungeons

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 also includes Lost Rites, a set of 12 dungeon challenges placed in the existing main area. These dungeons contain rare equipment and are designed as a second expansion route alongside Norgan.

Capcom recommends around level 20 for Lost Rites, making those challenges a more approachable Dark Arisen starting point for a newer character.

How to start Dark Arisen on Switch 2

The start route for Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 follows the same expansion design Capcom describes for the other versions. Reach Vernworth in the main story and speak with Brant at the tavern to access the new content.

Because the Switch 2 product already contains the expansion, there is no separate DLC entitlement to buy after installing the package. You still need to progress far enough to reach Vernworth.

Preorder bonus

Preorders for Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 include the Norgan Fashion Set Northern Attire. Nintendo notes that the bonus may also be made available separately later.

Treat it as bonus equipment rather than required expansion access. Missing the preorder does not remove Forsaken Dominion, Lost Rites or the new customization systems from the main package.

Is it the same content as PS5 and Xbox?

The core Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 content matches the Dark Arisen expansion on PS5, Xbox and PC. The major difference is that Nintendo sells the base game and expansion together because Dragon’s Dogma 2 is new to Switch 2.

Technical settings can differ by platform, so do not assume PS5 Pro or Xbox graphics options carry across unchanged. Nintendo’s product page confirms the content, not an identical performance-mode list.

Does Switch 2 get the base game’s updates?

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 launches after Capcom’s major 2026 quality-of-life and performance work for Dragon’s Dogma 2. The package is therefore based on the current version of the game rather than the untouched March 2024 launch build.

Capcom has added features such as the Eternal Ferrystone, more Portcrystals, performance improvements and additional save slots through free title updates. Capcom has not yet detailed how every one of those improvements is presented specifically on Switch 2.

Who is Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 for?

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 is the simplest Dark Arisen purchase for a Nintendo player who wants the whole adventure in one package. It includes the base game, Norgan story, Lost Rites dungeons and character customization additions from day one.

If you already play on PS5, Xbox or PC, Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen Switch 2 is not required to access the expansion. Those platforms have separate Dark Arisen DLC, while Switch 2 uses the combined release as its starting point.
