Gathering the Grub is the first training quest for the Brewfest Banquet and teaches the Gatherer role. Your job is to find Brew Thieves around the Brewfest grounds, take their ingredient bags and bring the supplies back to the kitchen wagon.
It is a short quest, but it matters because the hourly Banquet remains locked until the complete three-part training chain is finished. After Gathering the Grub, you move into Brewmaster’s Kitchen and then Serving with Style.

For Gathering the Grub, stay around the Brewfest event grounds and look for Brew Thieves rather than travelling into the surrounding zone. Defeat them, loot or collect the Bags of Brewfest Ingredients and deposit the supplies at the material wagon when the quest counter is ready.
Where to find Brew Thieves
Brew Thieves are scattered around the Brewfest grounds outside Ironforge and Orgrimmar. They are part of the event area itself, so you should not need a long flight or a separate dungeon queue.
During Gathering the Grub, move around the outer edge of the camp if the closest enemies have already been tagged or cleared by other players. The respawn loop keeps the quest local.
Collect the ingredient bags
Defeat the Brew Thieves and collect the Bag of Brewfest Ingredients items required by the quest. These are the same sort of supplies the Gatherer role feeds into the live Banquet kitchen.
Gathering the Grub deliberately mirrors the hourly scenario so that the later role is familiar: kill the thieves, secure ingredients and keep the kitchen supplied.
Where to deliver the materials
Return to the event kitchen and deposit the bags at the wagon of materials. If the quest tracker still shows ingredients in your possession, make sure you are using the marked wagon rather than one of the cooking tables.

What Gatherers do during the Banquet
During the live Brewfest Banquet, Gatherers repeat the same basic loop and each ingredient delivery adds 25 Brew Points to the shard score. The Cook role is worth more per completed meal, but it cannot function if nobody brings supplies back.
That is why Gathering the Grub is not just a throwaway tutorial. It teaches one-third of the event’s shared production chain before the hourly timer is involved.
