WARDOGS Queue issues became a launch-day reality when demand overwhelmed the login infrastructure and BULKHEAD began admitting players in controlled batches. That was a backend stability measure, not a hidden account restriction or a sign that every queued player needed to restart.
There is also a second kind of waiting problem: one individual server can simply be full after the global login layer has already admitted you. WARDOGS Queue troubleshooting starts by identifying which layer is actually blocking progress.

WARDOGS Queue can be a global login queue
During launch instability, BULKHEAD returned players to a login queue after a client hotfix and then let people back in gradually while the team watched server health.
That type of WARDOGS Queue protects shared infrastructure before normal server choice. Picking a quieter server cannot help until the global login service has admitted the account.
A full server is a different queue problem
Once you are inside the browser, a 100-player server can have no room even when the wider service is healthy. In that situation, another server with free capacity can solve the problem immediately.
Do not confuse one full community server with a global WARDOGS Queue. The screen you are looking at tells you which problem needs solving.
Do not spam restart during controlled admission
Repeatedly closing and reopening the game during a confirmed login incident can throw away a working place and create another authentication attempt without increasing total capacity.
Follow BULKHEAD’s current instructions first. WARDOGS Queue problems caused by rate limiting or controlled admission are solved on the backend, not by making the client more impatient.
Friends cannot reserve a queue place for you
Steam friend tools can help target the same server after login, but they do not skip a global queue and they cannot create a slot on a full faction.
If a group is split by WARDOGS Queue pressure, wait until everybody is admitted or choose a quieter server rather than expecting one friend already inside to pull the others past capacity.
Install required hotfixes before waiting again
Launch Stability Hotfix #1 required a client restart and update before players returned to the login queue. That is a reminder to check Steam for a pending patch whenever BULKHEAD posts an incident update.
A WARDOGS Queue can be genuine while an outdated client creates a second problem on top of it.
When should you restart?
Restart only when the developer asks players to update, the queue has clearly failed or official channels say the incident is resolved while your client remains stuck.
That turns a restart into a targeted fix rather than a reflex. WARDOGS Queue behaviour during a live incident can change as BULKHEAD adjusts admission.
Queues can return after launch week
Major updates, sales or events can create another sudden population spike even after normal traffic has stabilised. Launch was the largest example, not proof that controlled admission can never be used again.
If WARDOGS Queue numbers suddenly appear for many players at once, check the latest official Steam posts before troubleshooting the PC.
Queues can return after a major update
Launch week produced the largest capacity problem, but any popular update, sale or free weekend can create another sudden rush of logins. Controlled admission is a normal stability tool when letting everybody through immediately would make the service worse.
That means seeing a queue months later does not automatically imply a new permanent problem. Check whether a patch or event has just gone live and whether BULKHEAD has posted a capacity notice.
If the queue is only attached to one full community server, switching hosts is still the faster solution.
Players should also avoid interpreting a long wait as proof the account is broken. During controlled admission, somebody joining faster may simply have entered an earlier batch or a different server path.
Once BULKHEAD says admission is normal again, a queue that never advances becomes much more reasonable to treat as a local client problem.
