Halloween: The Game Editions are the $39.99 Digital Standard Edition and the $59.99 Digital Deluxe Edition. Both include the base game, but the Deluxe version adds exclusive characters and cosmetics plus four days of early access for preorders.

Halloween: The Game Editions Compared

The biggest difference between the two Halloween: The Game Editions is not the core game. Both versions give you Halloween: The Game, including the single player Michael Myers story and 1v4 multiplayer. The extra $20 for Deluxe is paying for additional characters, cosmetics and earlier access.

What Is Included in the Standard Edition?

The cheaper of the Halloween: The Game Editions is the Digital Standard Edition at $39.99. It includes the base game and follows the standard September 8, 2026 launch at 9:00 AM Pacific.

The base game is not a stripped down multiplayer only package. Halloween: The Game includes a standalone single player story mode where you play as Michael Myers, as well as the 1v4 multiplayer mode. The launch multiplayer package includes four maps and ten standard playable civilian characters, with two additional civilians tied to the Deluxe Edition.

If your priority is simply playing the full game and you do not care about starting four days earlier or owning the Deluxe exclusives, Standard is the straightforward option.

What Is Included in the Digital Deluxe Edition?

The more expensive of the Halloween: The Game Editions costs $59.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, the exclusive Inmate Michael Myers skin and two exclusive playable civilians, Richard and Alexis.

The preorder information also lists advance access for the Final Girl Laurie Strode cosmetic, a Halloween: The Game comic and additional surprises. IllFonic has said a Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade will be sold at launch and will include the two exclusive civilians, the Inmate Michael Myers skin and further extras.

For preorder buyers, the major gameplay benefit is early access. Digital Deluxe preorders can start on September 4 at 9:00 AM Pacific, four days before the standard September 8 release.

Which Halloween: The Game Editions Include Early Access?

Only the Digital Deluxe Edition preorder includes Halloween: The Game Early Access. The early period begins September 4 and runs into the standard launch on September 8.

IllFonic’s current FAQ also says players who buy the Digital Deluxe Edition during the early access window can still enter early access and obtain the available preorder bonuses before the September 8 launch. That makes the Deluxe option available throughout the four day window rather than only before it begins.

What Is the Halloween: The Game Preorder Bonus?

The Digital preorder exclusive is the Phantom Michael Myers skin. IllFonic states that this skin will not be available to purchase after launch, so this is the bonus with the clearest time limit.

The preorder window runs until the standard game launches on September 8 at 9:00 AM Pacific. If the Phantom skin matters to you, that deadline is more important than the usual vague wording around preorder extras because the developer has specifically said it is not planned for later sale.

Can You Upgrade to Deluxe Later?

Yes. One useful detail when comparing the Halloween: The Game Editions is that a Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade is planned for launch. IllFonic says this upgrade includes Richard and Alexis, the Inmate Michael Myers skin and additional surprises.

That means choosing Standard does not necessarily lock you out of every Deluxe item forever. The exception is the Phantom Michael Myers preorder skin, which is specifically tied to the digital preorder period and is not planned for purchase after launch.

The four day early access window is also inherently time sensitive. Buying an upgrade after September 8 cannot recreate the benefit of playing before launch.

Which of the Halloween: The Game Editions Should You Buy?

For most players, the choice between the Halloween: The Game Editions comes down to whether the extra $20 is worth four days of early access plus the exclusive Deluxe characters and cosmetics.

Choose the Standard Edition if you mainly want the base game and are happy to start on September 8. Choose the Digital Deluxe Edition if you want Richard and Alexis, the Inmate Michael Myers skin and the September 4 early access period enough to justify the higher price.

If you are undecided because of the cosmetics rather than the early start, the planned Deluxe Upgrade gives you some flexibility after launch. If you care about the Phantom Michael Myers preorder skin, however, that particular bonus has a firm pre launch window and is the one item you should not assume you can buy later.
