Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 games include Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, bringing three playable Metal Gear titles together in Konami’s second Master Collection.
Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker are the two main games included in the collection, while Ghost Babel is included as bonus content. There are also digital books, the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database and a 16-track digital soundtrack.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 launched on August 27, 2026, so the complete contents of the released collection are now confirmed.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Games List
Here are all three playable Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 games:
| Game | Version |
|---|---|
| Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots | Master Collection version |
| Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker | HD Collection version |
| Metal Gear: Ghost Babel | Bonus content |
Although there are three playable games, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker are treated as the collection’s two main titles.
Ghost Babel is instead provided as bonus content and cannot be purchased separately from the collection.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the biggest addition to the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 games list.
Originally released for PlayStation 3 in 2008, Metal Gear Solid 4 follows an ageing Solid Snake on his final mission.
The original game remained tied to PS3 for almost two decades, making its inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2 particularly significant. The new release marks the first time Metal Gear Solid 4 has been officially brought to modern consoles and PC.
The Master Collection version also includes the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database.
This provides information covering the wider story and lore of the series through the events of Metal Gear Solid 4.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is also accompanied by its own digital Screenplay Book and Master Book.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
The second main game is Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Master Collection Vol. 2 uses the HD Collection version of Peace Walker rather than the original PSP release.
Peace Walker follows Big Boss and the growth of his private military organisation during the Cold War. Alongside traditional Metal Gear stealth gameplay, it features base management, recruitment and cooperative multiplayer.
Online multiplayer supports up to six players depending on the mode.
Peace Walker also receives its own digital Screenplay Book and Master Book as part of the collection.
Metal Gear: Ghost Babel
The third playable game included with Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 is Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.
Originally released for the Game Boy Color, Ghost Babel is a spin-off rather than part of the main Metal Gear Solid timeline.
Its story takes place seven years after the original Metal Gear and sends Solid Snake into the fictional Central African country of Gindra.
Despite the limitations of the Game Boy Color hardware, Ghost Babel adapted many of the stealth mechanics associated with the series into a handheld game.
One difference in the Master Collection release is multiplayer. The original Ghost Babel included a VS Battle mode, but VS Battle is not implemented in the Master Collection version.
Ghost Babel is classified as bonus content within Vol. 2 rather than one of its two headline releases.
Is Ghost Babel Included With Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2?
Yes.
Metal Gear: Ghost Babel is included with Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 as bonus content.
You receive it when buying the complete Master Collection Vol. 2 bundle.
However, Ghost Babel is not included when purchasing Metal Gear Solid 4 or Peace Walker separately.
If Ghost Babel is one of the reasons you are interested in Vol. 2, you need the full collection.
What Other Content Is Included?
The complete Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 contents extend beyond the three playable games.
The collection includes:
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Collection version
- Metal Gear: Ghost Babel
- Metal Gear Solid 4 Database
- Metal Gear Solid 4 Screenplay Book
- Metal Gear Solid 4 Master Book
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Screenplay Book
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Master Book
- Metal Gear Solid Digital Soundtrack Vol. 2
The Screenplay Books contain text covering the games’ story material, including cutscenes and other dialogue.
The Master Books provide additional information about the characters and series alongside gameplay information and other reference material.
How Many Games Are in Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2?
There are three playable games in Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2.
However, Konami presents the collection as having two primary titles plus a bonus game.
The two main Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 games are:
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
The third is:
Metal Gear: Ghost Babel
Ghost Babel is included as bonus content when purchasing the complete collection.
Can You Buy the Games Separately?
Two of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 games are available separately.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker can both be purchased as standalone digital games without buying the complete Vol. 2 bundle.
Metal Gear: Ghost Babel is different.
Ghost Babel is bonus content for the full Master Collection Vol. 2 package and is not included when purchasing MGS4 or Peace Walker individually.
The additional bonus material, including the digital soundtrack, is also tied to purchasing the collection rather than the standalone games.
Does Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Include MGS5?
No. Metal Gear Solid V is not included in Master Collection Vol. 2.
Neither Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes nor Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is part of the collection.
The complete playable Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 games list consists of MGS4, Peace Walker and Ghost Babel.
Does Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Include Portable Ops?
No.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is not included in Master Collection Vol. 2.
The PSP game had been one of several titles discussed by fans before Konami officially revealed the collection, but it is not part of the final release.
Peace Walker is the PSP-era title represented in Vol. 2, although the collection specifically uses its later HD Collection version.
Does Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Include Metal Gear Rising?
No. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is not included.
Master Collection Vol. 2 focuses on Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker, with Ghost Babel included as the additional playable bonus game.
Is Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 Included?
No.
Master Collection Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are separate purchases.
You do not receive the first collection when purchasing Vol. 2, and you do not need to own Vol. 1 to play the games included in Vol. 2.
Players who do have save data from Master Collection Vol. 1 can receive bonus items for Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker.
Every Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Game
The final Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 games list contains three playable titles: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.
MGS4 is finally available away from its original PlayStation 3 release, while Peace Walker returns using its HD Collection version. Ghost Babel provides a considerably older piece of Metal Gear history as the collection’s bonus playable game.
Alongside those three games, the full collection includes the Metal Gear Solid 4 Database, Screenplay Books, Master Books and Metal Gear Solid Digital Soundtrack Vol. 2.
If you only want MGS4 or Peace Walker, both can be purchased separately digitally. If you want Ghost Babel and the complete selection of bonus content, you need Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2.
