Wo Long 2 Demo PS Plus is an easy thing to question because the Alpha is online-only and supports up to three players. Normally that combination makes console players expect a subscription requirement, but Sony has placed an explicit note on the PS5 demo listing saying that PlayStation Plus is not needed for multiplayer sessions.
That exemption applies to the limited Alpha Demo available through September 30, 2026. It should not be stretched into a promise about the retail version, because subscription requirements for paid console multiplayer can follow different platform rules after the full game launches.
Wo Long 2 Demo PS Plus requirement on PS5
Wo Long 2 Demo PS Plus is not required for the Alpha’s multiplayer sessions. You can download the free demo, connect online and use its multiplayer features without an active Plus subscription during the current test period.
You do still need an internet connection. Wo Long 2 Demo PS Plus being optional does not make the Alpha playable offline, because the PlayStation Store separately states that online play is required for the demo itself.
Can you play the Alpha solo without Plus?
Yes. The store lists one player as well as three online players, so you can play through the test without forming a co-op group. The online-only requirement means the console must remain connected, but it does not force you to invite other people.
Wo Long 2 Demo PS Plus therefore does not become necessary just because you switch from solo exploration to a multiplayer session. Sony specifically removes the Plus requirement for multiplayer in this Alpha, which makes it easy to test both play styles on the same account.
Will the full game also have free PS5 multiplayer?
That has not been promised by the Alpha note. The final release is a paid game launching March 4, 2027, and platform subscription rules can be different once the test period ends. Treat the no-Plus statement as a benefit of the current demo unless Sony or KOEI TECMO publishes broader retail terms.
Wo Long 2 Demo PS Plus information should therefore be checked again if you are planning a permanent co-op group for launch. The free Alpha gives you a chance to see whether the multiplayer suits your group before deciding what subscriptions or edition purchases are needed later.
Other requirements for the PS5 Alpha
The demo is available only until 15:00 UTC on September 30 and cannot be downloaded or played after the cutoff. Trophies are disabled, and completing the test awards the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet for the final game when the same console and account conditions are met.
Wo Long 2 Demo PS Plus may be the nicest requirement to hear about, but the deadline is the one most likely to catch people out. Download and finish the Alpha while the servers are available rather than assuming free access means the client will remain playable indefinitely.
The no-Plus rule does not remove the deadline
The subscription exemption is useful, but it does not make the Alpha permanent. Wo Long 2 Demo PS Plus remains unnecessary only within a test that itself closes on September 30. Downloading early gives you time to try both solo and co-op before the servers stop accepting the demo.
