Witcher 3 Remastered Unlimited Carry Weight: How to Enable It

Witcher 3 Remastered Unlimited Carry Weight

Witcher 3 Remastered Unlimited Carry Weight is enabled with the new Ignore Item Weight option in Settings. Once it is active, Geralt can keep collecting weapons, armour, crafting materials and junk without becoming overburdened by the normal inventory weight limit.

The official name behind Witcher 3 Remastered Unlimited Carry Weight is Ignore Item Weight. CD Projekt Red includes it in the new Accessibility section, and it can be used on its own without turning on every other Bard’s Ballad assist.

How to enable Witcher 3 Remastered Unlimited Carry Weight

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Accessibility.
  3. Find Ignore Item Weight.
  4. Turn the option on.
  5. Return to your save and open Inventory.
  6. Continue looting normally without the usual overburdened restriction.

The setting takes the weight system out of moment-to-moment inventory management. You can still sort, sell and dismantle items, but carrying too much no longer forces Geralt into the overburdened movement penalty.

What Ignore Item Weight actually does

CD Projekt Red describes the option as allowing players to travel while carrying as much as they want. It does not automatically sell junk, expand merchants’ money or clean the inventory for you.

Witcher 3 Remastered Unlimited Carry Weight therefore removes the capacity limit while leaving the rest of the economy and item management intact.

Do you need Bard’s Ballad enabled?

No. Bard’s Ballad is a preset that can enable several accessibility changes together, but every option can be customised individually from the Accessibility menu.

You can enable Ignore Item Weight while leaving Infinite Breath, Unlimited Item Durability, Faster Boats and the other assists disabled.

Witcher 3 Remastered Unlimited Carry Weight missing

Make sure you are running Remastered and looking in the new Accessibility section. The option is not an old inventory setting and will not appear in a pre-September 29 build.

If the update is installed but the setting is absent, restart the game fully and check the current build before touching save files.

Does Ignore Item Weight change stash size?

The option removes Geralt’s carrying restriction, not the purpose of the stash. You can still use the stash to keep the inventory readable or to separate equipment you want to preserve.

That is worth doing even with Witcher 3 Remastered Unlimited Carry Weight because hundreds of swords and crafting components can make manual inventory browsing slower and messier.

Does it make saddlebags useless?

For pure carrying capacity, saddlebags matter far less once item weight is ignored. You may still keep a favourite saddle setup for its other characteristics or simply because you prefer not to redesign the equipment screen around the assist.

Players who want the original inventory-pressure loop can leave the setting off and continue upgrading carrying capacity normally.

Best players for the option

Ignore Item Weight is ideal for completionists, loot-heavy exploration and returning players who have already managed the Witcher 3 economy several times and do not want another inventory-capacity chore.

Witcher 3 Remastered Unlimited Carry Weight is also useful alongside mounted looting, because you can gather roadside items on Roach without immediately worrying about another overburdened trip to a merchant.

Does the option affect merchants or item value?

No. Removing the carry limit does not change what merchants pay, how much money they have, or whether an item is worth keeping. You still need to sell, dismantle or stash unwanted gear if you want a tidy inventory and enough crowns for crafting.

That makes the setting a convenience option rather than an economy shortcut. You can hoard more between stops, but the underlying loot values and crafting requirements remain part of the game.

CD Projekt Red confirms Ignore Item Weight in the official Remastered accessibility notes.
