Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers: Every Modifier and Counter

Warframe Follie's Hunt Modifiers

Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers are the hazards Follie adds as a run progresses, and they matter because several attack the exact thing you are trying to protect: a Paint carrier with restricted movement. The current set includes Polyopia, Sticky Ink, Splattering Touch, Drip Drip Drip, Gigantism, Draining Effigies, Ink Balloons, Ink Mires and Deimos Tendril Drones.

Learning Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers is less about memorising names and more about knowing which hazard changes your route, which one needs destroying, and which one you can simply play around. Hotfix 42.0.2 softened several launch-day pain points, so an older video can make the mission look harsher than the current version.

Polyopia in Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers

Polyopia adds more Follies around the Relay. The important current detail is that hunting Follies are no longer invulnerable. Hotfix 42.0.2 allows players to damage them, and pushing a hunter to sufficiently low Health makes her retreat for a short period.

That means Polyopia is a pressure problem rather than an untouchable wall. If a clone is covering the Paint pool or Shadowgraph you need, damaging it can create a window for the carrier instead of forcing the whole squad into a long detour.

Sticky Ink and Splattering Touch in Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers

Sticky Ink punishes careless paths through ink structures and puddles because tentacles deal damage and slow you. Slows are particularly nasty while carrying Paint because Void Sling and Transference are already disabled. Give suspicious ink more room than during an ordinary sprint.

Splattering Touch turns enemy contact into an instant explosion. Treat approaching enemies as moving mines. A squad member clearing ahead of the Paint carrier has real value because the carrier should not squeeze through a pack and absorb several contact explosions.

Drip Drip Drip in Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers

Drip Drip Drip creates large permanent ink walls that change the map layout. The word permanent is the important part: this is a navigation modifier. Stop trying to force the route you memorised and move to the next viable corridor or elevator path.

Launch information can mislead you here. Hotfix 42.0.2 removed the damage and knockdown that occurred when players ran into Inky Walls. The wall still changes the route, but touching it is no longer supposed to punish you with those effects.

Gigantism in Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers

Gigantism increases enemy size and Health and also enlarges their innate explosion. It becomes dangerous in narrow routes or alongside Splattering Touch because the safe space around enemies is less forgiving. Clear enemies earlier instead of trying to brush past them with Paint.

Draining Effigies in Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers

Draining Effigies are Follie statues called Facsimiles. Their aura damages players and siphons Energy, and they can summon Follie when the player is carrying Paint. They can be destroyed, and damaging one temporarily shrinks its aura radius.

If an Effigy controls a Shadowgraph approach, shoot it rather than repeatedly trying to sprint through the drain. This is one of the modifiers where spending a few seconds removing the hazard can save an entire failed Paint trip.

Ink Balloons and Ink Mires in Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers

Do not confuse an Ink Balloon mine with an Atramentum Balloon. Ink Balloons are hazards that explode with ink, deal damage and stagger nearby players. Digital Extremes specifically says they can be popped with weapon damage, so remove them from a Paint route before the carrier arrives.

Ink Mires attach to doors and lock them down. These are not permanent route changes. Damage the Mire and the door becomes usable again. If a familiar doorway refuses to open, look for the ink growth before assuming you need a different floor.

Deimos Tendril Drones in Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers

Deimos Tendril Drones can latch onto the player and cause a stagger. The original instruction was to roll to shake them off, but Hotfix 42.0.2 changed the interaction so Tendrils immediately die after latching. The change targeted situations where a Paint carrier could get stuck while Void Mode was difficult to use because Energy was being drained.

Hardest Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers combinations

The nastiest combinations stack route pressure. Drip Drip Drip can remove your preferred corridor while Draining Effigies control the alternative. Sticky Ink or Tendrils can punish the carrier for hesitating, while Polyopia adds another hunter to the same problem.

Solve the route first. Destroy the removable obstruction, damage a Follie until she retreats if necessary, then pick up Paint. Carrying Paint before you know whether the path is blocked turns a manageable combination into wasted trips.

Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers: quick counter guide

  • Drive back Polyopia Follies when they control the route.
  • Avoid Sticky Ink rather than tanking the slow.
  • Keep Splattering Touch enemies away from the carrier.
  • Reroute around permanent Drip Drip Drip walls.
  • Give Gigantism enemies more room.
  • Destroy Draining Effigies covering a route.
  • Shoot Ink Balloon mines before approaching.
  • Destroy Ink Mires to reopen doors.
  • Keep moving after a Tendril latch because current Tendrils die after attaching.

Once those responses become automatic, Warframe Follie’s Hunt Modifiers stop feeling like nine random punishments and start functioning as route-reading problems. Remove what can be removed, reroute around what cannot, and only take Paint once the next delivery path is genuinely usable.
