WARDOGS Squad Size is much looser than the fixed four-player fireteams common in other military shooters, which suits a game built around persistent servers, large communities and up to 100 players. Groups do not have to split simply because a fifth friend joins.
BULKHEAD has not published a clean hard numerical squad cap in its current FAQ, while live community testing has shown very large squads working together. WARDOGS Squad Size is therefore best understood through practical server and faction limits rather than an invented small number.

WARDOGS Squad Size can support very large groups
Players have organised groups well beyond four, six or eight people during testing and Early Access. Community discussion has even described whole-team-style squads rather than a strict fireteam ceiling.
That does not mean every server will make a giant group easy to assemble. WARDOGS Squad Size can be generous while the faction itself has too few open slots for everyone to join.
Server capacity is the first real limit
A 100-player server cannot create extra places because one squad wants to add more people. If the server is almost full, part of the group can end up outside even when the squad system itself would allow them.
Large groups should choose a server with enough empty slots before worrying about squad structure. That decision solves more problems than arguing about the theoretical maximum.
Faction capacity matters too
Friends need to be on the same faction before one squad can organise them. A server may have global room while the preferred team is already full or heavily populated.
WARDOGS Squad Size therefore depends on two layers: enough room in the server and enough room on the same side. Neither can be bypassed by creating the squad first.
Huge squads need communication discipline
Putting a large community into one squad can make voice chat difficult if every player narrates every gunfight. Short calls, pings and agreed roles are more useful than constant conversation.
WARDOGS Squad Size gives groups organisational freedom, but it does not automatically create command structure. Clans may still want informal leaders or smaller role groups inside the wider squad.
Large squads can cover more specialist roles
A big group can keep medics, pilots, drivers, recon and support players connected without forcing everybody into separate social spaces. That makes it easier to coordinate transport, FOB construction and Control Zone pressure at the same time.
This is where WARDOGS Squad Size becomes a real gameplay advantage rather than just a bigger friends list.
Drop-in and drop-out play suits flexible squads
WARDOGS is built for players joining and leaving persistent sessions rather than one fixed competitive lobby that must keep the same roster from start to finish.
Flexible squad organisation fits that design. A friend can arrive later, take a support role and leave again without the whole group needing to restart matchmaking.
Do not confuse squad size with the 100-player match size
The 100-player figure describes the entire server battle across three factions. It does not mean one squad is meant to contain all 100 players or that a group can ignore team balance.
WARDOGS Squad Size is generous, but the squad still exists inside one faction and one live server. Those outer limits remain the important ones.
WARDOGS Squad Size works best with informal fireteams
WARDOGS Squad Size gives communities room to stay together, but a very large voice group can still benefit from smaller informal fireteams. A few players can focus on air, logistics or infantry while remaining part of the same wider squad.
That keeps communication useful without imposing a hard game mechanic that splits the group. Large communities get the flexibility, while the players decide how much structure they actually want.
Smaller friend groups do not need to imitate that structure. The point is simply that the game allows communities to scale organisation upward without imposing a tiny squad ceiling first.
Even a very large group still benefits from leaving a little room for random teammates, because one faction filled entirely by one community can make late joins harder and reduce flexibility when friends arrive later.
