Valheim 1.0 New Weapons: All 40+ Weapons

Valheim 1.0 New Weapons

Valheim 1.0 New Weapons total more than forty offensive additions in Iron Gate’s detailed full-release notes. The core list is broad: 12 Nord weapons cover almost every established physical class, all 12 receive Frostfire variants, all 12 receive Thunderblood variants, and four new staves expand Eitr builds. Version 1.0 also adds four shields, Bloodgold ammunition, Ember Charge and new utility gear.

The reason Valheim 1.0 New Weapons feel larger than a normal biome tier is that players do not have to abandon their favourite skill. Swords, greatswords, atgeirs, maces, sledges, axes, greataxes, spears, daggers, knucklechains, bows and crossbows all receive a Nord base. Frostfire and Thunderblood then add elemental routes without replacing the physical class. Four new shields and specialised Bloodgold ammunition sit beside that offensive list, so ranged, shield-focused and magic builds all receive meaningful late-game additions.

New Bloodgold Ammo

Valheim 1.0 New Weapons also arrive with Bloodgold Arrow, Bloodgold Bolt, Bloodgold Missile and Bloodgold Payload.

That gives new bows and crossbows matching endgame ammunition.

Frostfire Family

Frostfire Valheim 1.0 New Weapons add fire and frost damage across all 12 physical classes.

The family covers both fast and heavy weapon styles.

Thunderblood Family

Thunderblood Valheim 1.0 New Weapons mirror the same 12 classes and add lightning damage.

Neither elemental branch is universally best because resistances vary.

New Staves

The four magical Valheim 1.0 New Weapons are Echo Spike, Spirit Caller, Northern Vengeance and Lightning Strike.

They add direct, summon and support options for Eitr builds.

How to Get Them

The physical Valheim 1.0 New Weapons follow a production chain, not a single crafting-table unlock. Find the appropriate weapon mould, gather Bloodgold, and create its cast at the relevant station before hardening the cast in a Frost Foundry. The elemental families branch from the Nord versions, so examine the specific variant’s recipe before deciding which moulds and materials to farm. Our Deep North progression guide shows the Winding Tunnels and Bloodgold route.

Most Valheim 1.0 New Weapons sit inside the Bloodgold and mould crafting chain, using Deep North dungeons, enemies and new production stations.

Why There Are So Many New Weapons

Iron Gate did not create one narrow final-biome weapon archetype. Instead, almost every established physical class receives a Nord base and both elemental branches, preserving long-running character specialisation.

Twelve Nord weapon classes with Frostfire and Thunderblood counterparts make 36 variants, plus four new staves. The Frost Foundry guide explains how to finish Deep North casts.

New Defensive and Utility Equipment

Nord Buckler, Nord Shield, Nord Greatshield and Shield of Roots expand the defensive side of the tier. Bloodgold ammunition gives ranged builds matching late-game projectiles.

Neckstabber, Witch Crown, Ember Charge, Snow Shovel and Grappling Hook sit outside the core weapon table but are still part of the broader equipment overhaul.
