Titan Quest II Forge Mastery is the engineering-focused specialisation inspired by Hephaistos. It enhances weapons and armour during fights, deploys blade traps and sentry turrets, and brings mechanical helpers called Automatons onto the battlefield. Forge is playable in PC Early Access and can be paired with any of the game’s other five Masteries.

Rather than focusing entirely on direct weapon swings or spells, Forge lets you prepare an encounter and strengthen your equipment. The result can be a durable melee fighter, a trap-focused character or a build supported by summoned machinery.

How the Titan Quest II Forge Mastery works

The Titan Quest II Forge Mastery offers three directions: enhancing equipment, controlling space and fighting with constructs. Its weapon and armour improvements make your hero more capable in the middle of combat. Blade traps and sentry turrets deal with enemies around you, while Automatons add another source of battlefield presence.

Damage Reflection is also part of Forge’s design. That creates an option for defensive builds that punish attacks rather than relying on the same attack skill repeatedly. The more aggressive alternative is to use your devices to shape where enemies move and strike.

Titan Quest II Forge Mastery traps and turrets

In the Titan Quest II Forge Mastery, a blade trap can threaten an area while you draw enemies into it. Sentry turrets let you attack through a placed device instead of only through your hero. THQ Nordic describes these as active ways to control the battlefield, particularly when combined with effects from a second Mastery.

The publisher gives Forge plus Storm as an example, with traps benefiting from lightning. Earth also contributes elemental power to a construct-oriented playstyle. Choose modifiers that support the way you want to use the traps alongside your second Mastery.

Automatons and other Forge summons

The Automaton is Forge’s mechanical summon. It was part of the summon expansion introduced during Early Access, alongside Earth’s Core Dweller, Storm’s Wisps and Warfare’s Warbanner. This makes Forge interesting for players who want a helper but don’t necessarily want Spirit’s undead theme.

A summoning direction can combine the Automaton with equipment buffs and support abilities. You still need to manage your own positioning and active skills, but the construct helps keep pressure on enemies while your hero moves or attacks.

Force Field changes in the October 29 patch

The October 29 update changed the Force Field modifier from Projectile Glancing to Glancing Protection. It now grants 6% All Glancing, replacing the former 10% Projectile Glancing bonus. The change broadens the kinds of hits the modifier affects while changing its stated percentage.

This matters when following older Forge builds. If your skill modifier description no longer matches an early guide or screenshot, use the current 0.7.1 build’s description. The general gameplay patch also fixes cooldown displays and summon respawning after character death.

Best pairing for the Titan Quest II Forge Mastery

Storm is a natural partner when you want mechanical attacks backed by lightning and frost. Earth adds fire and stone effects, Warfare gives a stronger weapon focus and Rogue introduces poison and piercing. Spirit lets you lean further into fighting alongside summons.

There are five possible second Masteries because you cannot choose Forge twice. The 15 class combinations guide compares every pair without assigning made-up official class names.

How to build around the Titan Quest II Forge Mastery

For a Titan Quest II Forge Mastery build, decide whether your damage comes from your own weapon or from prepared devices. Take skills and modifiers that support that direction, then choose defensive abilities or a second Mastery that helps you survive the fights you struggle with.

The game lets you respec skill and attribute allocations for Gold. That means you can experiment with stronger traps, equipment boosts or Automatons without needing an entirely new character for each test. For the full list of available specialisations, see our Masteries overview.
