Titan Quest II October 29 update is live on PC with build 0.7.1-public.144378+win.3193. Grimlore Games added the first Hero Monsters, temporary Buff Shrines and two restored ability-bar slots. The patch also changes item locking, Sell All and Salvage All, while fixing several Mastery, crafting and quest problems.
This is the first smaller feature update before the January 19, 2027 release. The new encounters and interface changes are available now in Early Access. The final Taygetos Mountains chapter, Nemesis showdown and Kaos Curses endgame are separate 1.0 additions.
Titan Quest II October 29 update: new Hero Monsters
Hero Monsters are tougher versions of enemies from existing factions. They have distinctive abilities and can spawn randomly in areas where their faction is present. You may run into one while exploring familiar territory, rather than always finding it at a fixed boss arena.
The reward is a high chance of dropping Relic fragments from that chapter. Hunting these enemies can speed up Relic completion, although a high chance isn’t a guaranteed drop. The first set of Hero Monsters is included in the October 29 patch.

Titan Quest II October 29 update: Buff Shrines and their effects
Buff Shrines are placed throughout the world and grant temporary bonuses when activated. The available effects include increased Experience, Defences, Power and Speed. Their bonuses are randomised when you load the game world, giving familiar routes some variety on later visits.
Take advantage of the bonus while it is active, particularly if you’re heading into tougher faction territory. The effect at a given shrine is not permanently fixed, so look at the current buff rather than relying on yesterday’s result.
Two ability slots restored in the Titan Quest II October 29 update
Grimlore restored two slots to the ability bar after criticism of their removal alongside the Sustained Ability UI. The slots are available again from the October 29 build, allowing more abilities to be assigned without cutting down the previous hotbar setup.
Some custom keybindings may reset because of the change. If you see a notification when launching the game, open the controls menu and check the keys assigned to the returned slots before entering combat.

Locked items and Sell All in the Titan Quest II October 29 update
The old Junk marking is gone. Instead, mark valuable equipment as Locked. Locked items are protected against selling, salvaging and dropping. Sell All and Salvage All now operate on everything that hasn’t been locked.
This makes inventory cleanup quicker. Lock the weapons or armour you want to keep, then use Sell All at the vendor or Salvage All in the appropriate menu. You no longer have to mark each unwanted item as Junk first.
Crafting and Mastery balance in the Titan Quest II October 29 update
Increasing an item’s level no longer downgrades its affix tier. If the tier remains the same, the value cannot be lowered by the upgrade. A new tier can still produce a lower numerical result if a previously high roll is replaced by a low roll within the better tier.
Forge’s Force Field modifier was changed to Glancing Protection, granting 6% All Glancing rather than 10% Projectile Glancing. Storm Protection also now grants All Glancing. Skills stuck visually on permanent cooldown and summons failing to respawn after death were fixed.
Other fixes from the Titan Quest II October 29 update
Spirit’s Reap now rotates correctly. Lost Souls no longer have unintended life steal. The Ancient Embers quest progresses after spending embers, and multiple dungeon locations have corrected camera blockers, paths or interactable objects.
The patch also fixes crafting options not working for some multiplayer clients, gamepad ladder interactions disabling potions and incorrect camera positions after death. These smaller improvements sit alongside the bigger Hero Monster, shrine and item-management changes.
What follows the Titan Quest II October 29 update?
The next major milestone remains version 1.0 on January 19. Grimlore plans the fifth story chapter in the Taygetos Mountains, the battle with Nemesis and Kaos Curses as the first endgame activity. Those aren’t included in the October 29 Early Access patch.
For now, try the new encounters, review your restored hotbar bindings and lock any valuable items before using the revamped Sell All or Salvage All controls.
