SULFUR 1.0 arrives on 28 October 2026, ending two years of Steam Early Access and bringing Perfect Random’s roguelike shooter to PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles. The full release finishes the story, adds five combined enchantments and a quest log, and changes parts of the combat system. Multiplayer is not included at launch.
If you’ve already spent time building weapons and exploring SULFUR’s dungeons, the completed story and enchantment system are the main additions. Console players are getting the full game from the start. Here’s what’s confirmed for version 1.0, including every new scroll name and the platforms supported.
SULFUR 1.0 update: all the confirmed changes
| Feature | Change in version 1.0 |
|---|---|
| Combined enchantments | Complete magic matrix and five new scrolls |
| Quest log | Digital tracker for active quests |
| Story | Complete progression from beginning to end |
| Weapon oils | New options for counteracting bullet drop |
| Melee combat | Hitstop on contact, with knockback-related changes |
| Performance | Further optimisation, balancing and polish |
| Multiplayer | Not included at launch |
Perfect Random outlined these features in its October 8 announcement. SULFUR already had more than 60 guns, hundreds of items, bosses, cooking and weapon customisation in Early Access. Those are existing features; the table highlights what changes with the full release.

The five new combined enchantments
The SULFUR 1.0 update completes the enchantment system’s combined magic matrix. The five newly named combined-enchantment scrolls are Scroll of Snowman Head, Scroll of Water Bomb, Scroll of Mud Ball, Scroll of Evil Seed and Scroll of Teslacold. Those are the developer’s exact names.
Perfect Random hasn’t published the ingredient combinations or unlock steps for those scrolls in its 1.0 preview. The five names are confirmed, but a reliable crafting guide needs the recipes from the released game. If you’re trying to make a particular enchantment, there isn’t an official combination to follow in the announcement yet.
How does the new SULFUR 1.0 quest log work?
SULFUR is getting an in-game quest log that tracks your current quests. It’s a useful addition if you’ve been relying on memory or separate notes to keep track of objectives between runs. The tracker will be included on PC and consoles.
The announcement describes the quest log as a digital tracker. It doesn’t specify a keyboard shortcut, controller button or quest-pinning feature. Those controls need to be confirmed from the finished version before they can be included in a step-by-step guide.

Does SULFUR 1.0 include the complete story?
Yes. The SULFUR 1.0 release completes the game’s progression from beginning to end. If you reached the end of the Early Access content, version 1.0 is meant to let you continue through the finished story.
It doesn’t add new areas for returning players. Perfect Random said so explicitly in the launch announcement. Finishing the story and expanding the world with new regions are two different things, and only the first is confirmed for version 1.0.
Weapon oils, melee hitstop and other gameplay changes
New weapon oils will let you counteract bullet drop. They’re another option for customising how a gun fires, although Perfect Random hasn’t listed the exact oil names or their numerical effects in the preview. Those details belong in the full changelog.
Melee attacks gain hitstop on impact, making hits feel more pronounced. The studio says the change also addresses an exploit involving knockback. Other changes cover weapon and equipment balancing, controls, the interface, performance and bug fixes.
SULFUR 1.0 release date and all console platforms
28 October 2026 is the announced release date on Steam and all six console platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
| Platform | 1.0 release date |
|---|---|
| PC via Steam | 28 October 2026 |
| PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 | 28 October 2026 |
| Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S | 28 October 2026 |
| Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 | 28 October 2026 |
SULFUR entered Steam Early Access on 28 October 2024, so the full release falls on its second anniversary. The developer confirmed the launch date across platforms, but didn’t give one worldwide unlock hour in the announcement. The date alone doesn’t establish an exact UK launch time.
Does SULFUR 1.0 have co-op or multiplayer?
No. SULFUR is single-player at launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo. Perfect Random specifically confirmed that SULFUR 1.0 won’t include multiplayer or a surprise co-op release.
The studio wants to work on multiplayer after launch, but hasn’t announced when it will arrive or how many people will be able to play together. If co-op is what you’re looking for right now, our best co-op games guide covers games you can play with friends.
Will the SULFUR 1.0 release cost more?
The developer announced that SULFUR’s PC base price would increase from $24.99 to $29.99 USD when Early Access ends. Regional prices will be adjusted proportionally. Those US figures aren’t a confirmed UK price or a price for every console store.
Perfect Random plans more free updates after launch, including additional firearms. It has also talked about the possibility of DLC, but hasn’t announced a paid expansion. Multiplayer is still a future project, not part of SULFUR 1.0.
Are the full SULFUR 1.0 patch notes available?
As of the latest check on 28 October, the developer’s official Steam announcement still marks Full Patch Notes 1.0.0 as coming on October 28. The features above are confirmed, but they aren’t a complete list of fixes, weapon adjustments or crafting recipes.
The main additions are five new combined scrolls, a quest log, completed story progression and combat improvements. Exact enchantment recipes and individual balance changes need the final patch notes or verified in-game information. The current feature list reflects what Perfect Random has actually announced.
