Rust Console Edition Halloween Candy Hunt: Times, Lootbags and Vampire Stake

Rust Console Edition Halloween Candy Hunt runs from October 15 to November 5, 2026, on official console servers. Two Candy Hunt rounds occur per in-game day, with a 15-second countdown followed by three minutes of collecting glowing candy. Players compete for placement rewards, and the top five finishers receive lootbags.

There are two competitions each in-game day, and the difference between a Medium Lootbag and a Small one depends on where you place. The rare Vampire Stake also gives players a reason to value the smaller candy rewards.

Rust Console Edition Halloween Candy Hunt: when the Candy Hunt starts

When the timer starts, glowing Candies appear within your field of vision. Pick them up and keep an eye on the on-screen top-ten leaderboard. The leaderboard tracks ten hunters, but only the highest five are promised ranked prizes.

Those are in-game cycles rather than fixed real-world times such as noon or 6 PM. Watch for the event countdown while you’re playing, and be ready to collect quickly. There are two hunts per in-game day, with a short warning before each three-minute collecting round.

Rust Console Edition Halloween Candy Hunt: every placement reward

The winner receives three Medium Lootbags, and the runner-up receives one Medium Lootbag. Players in third, fourth and fifth receive Small Lootbags in differing quantities, so finishing higher still matters even when you miss the Medium reward.

Third place awards five Small Lootbags, fourth place awards three, and fifth place awards one. These are the officially listed placement rewards for the Halloween event; nothing in the announcement guarantees that players below fifth place receive one of the ranked prizes.

Rust Console Edition Halloween Candy Hunt: how to get the Vampire Stake

The Vampire Stake is a rare drop from Small Candy Bags, which is why the smaller candy reward pool is worth checking even if you don’t finish first or second. The stake can instantly kill a Scarecrow when you land a successful strike.

The Vampire Stake is a rare find in crafted Small Candy Bags. It is possible to open several bags without getting one; Candy Hunt placement alone doesn’t guarantee the weapon.

Rust Console Edition Halloween Candy Hunt: how to approach a three-minute round

Sort your inventory before the fifteen-second warning ends. Once the round begins, look for candy glowing in front of you, keep moving and collect until the three-minute countdown finishes. Don’t spend the round reorganising loot while everyone else is gathering sweets.

Halloween Scarecrows and Mummies can also be fought for Frankenstein body parts outside this short competition. If you’re mainly chasing a Frankenstein Monster, do those fights separately. The Candy Hunt’s main attraction is the ranked lootbag payout and its rare candy-bag rewards.

Rust Console Edition Halloween Candy Hunt: ranking and reward rules

Your final position, rather than a fixed number of Candies, decides which ranked prize you receive. First place wins three Medium Lootbags, second gets one Medium Lootbag, and third to fifth earn five, three and one Small Lootbag respectively. Those are the complete placement rewards in Double Eleven’s announcement.

The on-screen top-ten list is not a top-ten rewards table. Players in sixth through tenth may appear on it, but the developer only specifies guaranteed ranked lootbags for the top five. You have two chances per in-game Rust day during the event, so missing one round does not stop you joining the next.

Rust Console Edition Halloween Candy Hunt: Candy Bags and Scarecrow farming

Halloween rewards also include a rare Vampire Stake found inside Small Candy Bags crafted during the event. One successful strike can kill a Scarecrow instantly and yield extra loot. Keep the Small Candy Bags and the ranked Small Lootbags distinct: the official announcement specifically names crafted Small Candy Bags as the source of the Stake.

Scarecrows can drop Frankenstein body parts and the rare Ghost Sheet Costume, but those are enemy drops, not prizes for finishing the Rust Console Edition Halloween Candy Hunt in first place. If you want both candy and monster drops, enter the competition when it appears and hunt roaming Scarecrows or portal enemies between rounds.

Place Reward
1st 3 Medium Lootbags
