RuneScape Well of Restoration is a limited-time November 2026 event where players will be able to exchange eligible legacy microtransaction items for GP before those items leave the game. Jagex plans to open the Well after November Double XP and ahead of the 23 November cleanup update.

Everyone who logs in while the event is active will receive the exclusive the Restorer title, even without donating. Jagex has not confirmed the Well’s exact start time, location or GP exchange rates in its September announcement.

When does the RuneScape Well of Restoration start?

Jagex’s published order is clear: November Double XP comes first, followed by the shorter Well event, with the final legacy-item cleanup due before the game update on Monday, November 23. The original announcement says precise dates will be confirmed in a November Month Ahead notice.

The Well follows Double XP rather than opening alongside its start. Until Jagex publishes the event schedule, don’t rely on dates calculated by players.

How does the RuneScape Well of Restoration exchange work?

When the event opens, eligible MTX items can be donated for a set amount of GP per item. Jagex promised to publish the rates nearer the event, so the September announcement can’t tell you how much a particular stack is worth.

If you’ve kept Treasure Hunter lamps, protean items or similar legacy supplies, don’t assume they all give the same payout. Check which ones Jagex puts in the removal category and whether donating them makes sense compared with using them for their original purpose during November Double XP.

The RuneScape Well of Restoration is only the optional exchange opportunity. After the event, items marked for removal that are still in your account are set to be converted automatically into GP at a lower rate. Items in revised or retained categories have different outcomes and must not all be described as disappearing.

RuneScape Well of Restoration: how to get the Restorer title

Getting the title is simple: log in while the Well is active. Donations are optional and aren’t a condition for receiving the Restorer.

Players without legacy items to donate can still get the title. The GP exchange and login reward are separate parts of the event.

What should you do with your MTX items before the Well?

Start in your Bank. Jagex introduced a Clean Up filter on October 26, with two useful categories: MTX Item Removal and MTX Item Change. The first flags items scheduled to be removed; the second identifies items that will be altered or converted.

Before the RuneScape Well of Restoration opens, use our MTX Clean Up filter guide to find affected items in your Bank. The filter does not exchange them for GP. Jagex also fixed a dangerous default Destroy action on October 26, so check what the menu says before clicking.

During Double XP, consider whether an XP item is worth using. If you still have eligible items afterwards, the RuneScape Well of Restoration will be the next announced opportunity to receive GP for them. The publisher hasn’t disclosed a reliable GP-per-item table, so don’t base your planning on a guessed exchange rate.

Heartments and H’oddments: are the currencies included?

Heartments can be spent when the cosmetic shop returns during the Well event. Jagex also plans to let players donate these currencies for GP, with remaining Heartments converted to GP after the event. If you want cosmetics rather than coins, check the shop before donating the balance.

H’oddments belonged to the Harvest Hollow event, and unused balances were set to expire at the end of that Halloween event rather than waiting for the November 23 item cleanup. The two currencies shouldn’t be treated as interchangeable or given the same deadline.

Players can use eligible XP boosts during Double XP, donate leftovers for GP at the Well, or let removal-category items convert automatically at a lower rate. Log in while the event is active if you want the Restorer title.

Does every item disappear on November 23?

No. Jagex divides affected items into Remove, Revise and Retain. Some will disappear, some will change function or be merged, and others remain. For example, Marketplace Radiant Stars are excluded from the removal of Treasure Hunter lamps and stars.

Read our November 23 MTX removal guide before using or donating valuable items. The RuneScape Well of Restoration only accepts the eligible items Jagex designates, and its full live interaction instructions should be checked when the event opens.
