It is entirely optional. The free event already includes Mega Chandelure’s debut, a boosted Shiny chance and Timed Research, so the question is whether you can make good use of the paid extras in three hours.
If you’re planning several raids with an organised group, the Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket gives you more opportunities to use Gym Raid Passes. If you’re only hoping to catch one Chandelure, the free bonuses are generous enough that paying may add very little. Here’s the comparison, including the easily missed Web Store offer.
Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket price, date and bonuses
Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day runs on Saturday, October 31, from 2pm to 5pm local time. The UK will already be on GMT. You can purchase the Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket in the in-game shop until 5pm that day, but its bonuses end at the same time. Buying it late won’t extend your playing window.

The 14-pass allowance is a total, not 14 additional passes on top of the six. Compared with a free player, the Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket raises the announced event allowance by eight Gym passes. These are passes collected from Gym Photo Discs, not Remote Raid Passes. When entering a Super Mega Raid in person, Pokémon GO uses a free Raid Pass you already hold before offering a choice of Link Charges or a Premium Battle Pass. How much extra XP and Stardust can you earn?
The easiest bonuses to work out are the extra 5,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust per completed Super Mega Raid Battle. Your actual total depends on how many raids you finish, not merely how many passes you collect. The Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket doesn’t award either amount simply for logging in.

These are the Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket’s extra rewards alone, before ordinary raid rewards or other bonuses. The Rare Candy XL benefit is harder to price: Pokémon GO has confirmed an increased chance but hasn’t published a drop-rate percentage. The higher drop chance still doesn’t guarantee a particular number of Rare Candy XL.
Is the Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket worth buying?
Buy it if you already have a raid group and expect to complete more than the free pass allowance. Eight additional opportunities to use Gym passes, plus XP and Stardust on successful Super Mega Raids, can make the Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket worthwhile for an active afternoon. Chandelure caught from these raids also arrives with its first Mega Level unlocked, useful if you’re building a Super Max Mega Chandelure.
Skip it if you can only manage one or two raids, particularly if nearby Gyms are unlikely to host the special battles or you haven’t found enough people to defeat them. There’s no ticket-exclusive Shiny encounter rate in the announcement. All players get the increased event chance, although doing more raids offers more independent opportunities to find one. In-game ticket versus the Web Store Ultra Ticket Box
It is worth comparing the in-game ticket with the official Web Store offer. Pokémon GO has announced a Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day Ultra Ticket Box on its Web Store at the same US$4.99 price tier. It contains the event ticket and one bonus Premium Battle Pass, with no added charge according to the official announcement. Availability and local currency pricing should be checked before purchase.
If both offers are showing at the same price for you, the Web Store version is the stronger package. The Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket activates only one set of event bonuses; buying the Web Store box doesn’t double the 14-pass allowance. A Premium Battle Pass is a separate item, useful after the event if you don’t spend it that afternoon.
Can you gift a Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket or use PokéCoins?
You can gift a Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket to a Pokémon GO friend once you have reached at least Great Friends together. Tickets cannot be bought with PokéCoins, and standard non-refundable purchase conditions apply subject to local law and the publisher’s exceptions. Arrange your raid group first so neither of you buys an afternoon’s bonuses you cannot use.

Set up your counter team, clear bag space and locate accessible Super Mega Raids ahead of time. These raids can appear at selected Gyms rather than everywhere. If you can travel between active raids with the same organised group, you’ll get far more use from the Pokémon GO Chandelure Raid Day Ticket. If you only have time for one or two raids, the free bonuses may be all you need.
