Overwatch Tech Witches: Skins, Heroes, Dates and Collection

overwatch season 5 official

Overwatch Tech Witches is one of the October cosmetic drops that can be easy to misread if you only look at the wider Season 5 artwork. The collection sits beside a Halloween Battle Pass and the Shadow Monarch collaboration, but it is its own themed set with a different start date and a different group of Heroes. That matters for players trying to work out whether a particular skin belongs to progression, a collaboration or the shop.

The collection also arrives after A Grim Doctrine itself has already started, so it should not be treated as missing content on October 6. Blizzard has confirmed the participating Heroes and the collection window, while purchase layouts and exact shop prices are best read from the live store when the set opens. The useful part now is knowing exactly what has been confirmed and which purchases are completely separate.

Overwatch Tech Witches dates and confirmed Heroes

Overwatch Tech Witches runs from October 9 through October 26, 2026. Blizzard has named five Heroes for the collection: D.Mon, Shion, Juno, Sierra and Jetpack Cat. The theme replaces traditional broomsticks and spellbooks with enchanted circuitry, futuristic familiars and technology-infused magic, giving the set a brighter sci-fi take on Halloween witchcraft.

The three-day gap after the October 6 season launch is important. Overwatch Tech Witches is not supposed to be available on the first day of Season 5, so there is no reason to troubleshoot the shop simply because the collection is absent before October 9. Once the event window begins, the in-game store becomes the authority for the exact bundle layout and pricing.

ShionConfirmedPart of the five-Hero seasonal coven.

Jetpack CatConfirmedThe fifth named Hero in the collection.

Blizzard’s season announcement confirms those five names as the core Overwatch Tech Witches lineup. When the collection opens, the live shop will show any additional bundle items or extras alongside those confirmed Hero cosmetics.

Tech Witches is not the Season 5 Battle Pass

Overwatch Tech Witches is separate from the Season 5 Battle Pass. The Battle Pass has its own five Legendary skins, three Epic skins, currencies and up to 80 Mythic Prisms. None of the five named Tech Witches Heroes appears in Blizzard’s announced list of Battle Pass Legendary or Epic skins for A Grim Doctrine.

That separation is useful for budgeting. Buying or progressing the Battle Pass should not be treated as an automatic route to the Overwatch Tech Witches collection. If your main target is Juno, D.Mon, Shion, Sierra or Jetpack Cat, wait for the collection to open and check the live shop rather than buying the pass on the assumption that it contains these cosmetics.

Tech Witches and Shadow Monarch overlap

The Shadow Monarch collaboration starts earlier, on October 6, and continues through October 26. That means Overwatch Tech Witches overlaps with it from October 9 onward. The two collections are visually and mechanically separate: Shadow Monarch pairs five Overwatch Heroes with named characters from the collaboration, while Tech Witches is Blizzard’s own seasonal Halloween collection.

Collectors therefore have two limited cosmetic windows running at the same time for most of October. If you are trying to control spending, list the exact Hero skins you want from each collection before buying bundles. The overlap does not mean one event unlocks the other or that one Battle Pass purchase covers both.

How the collection fits the Halloween season

Overwatch Tech Witches lands in a season already filled with Halloween content. Mystery Madness runs through November 2, the main Battle Pass leans heavily into ghostly and witch-themed skins, and Tech Witches adds a more playful technology-driven branch of the same seasonal mood. Its October 9 start gives the shop collection its own moment instead of competing with every launch feature on the first day.

The practical distinction is that the collection is cosmetic content, not a gameplay event. You do not need to grind Mystery Madness Offerings or complete an Event Pass to make the Overwatch Tech Witches collection appear. Those systems can all be active during the same period while remaining separate paths.

What to check when Tech Witches goes live

When October 9 arrives, check the Overwatch shop for the exact individual skins, bundle contents and Coin prices before deciding what to buy. Blizzard has confirmed the Heroes and event dates, while the live store will show whether the cosmetics are sold individually, grouped into bundles or accompanied by extra items.

That is also the right time to compare ownership discounts or bundle reductions if the store presents them. Overwatch Tech Witches only runs until October 26, so players interested in the set should make purchase decisions inside that window rather than assuming it will remain in the normal shop after the event ends.

Is the collection worth waiting for?

For players who mainly use one of the five confirmed Heroes, waiting until October 9 makes more sense than spending early on unrelated Season 5 cosmetics. You can see the actual Overwatch Tech Witches presentation in the store, compare it with the current Battle Pass and Shadow Monarch items, and then decide which cosmetic path has more value for your own hero pool.

If none of the five Heroes is part of your normal rotation, the collection is easier to skip. There is no gameplay power attached to owning it. Overwatch Tech Witches is best treated as a limited cosmetic choice with a clearly defined Hero lineup, not as a required part of Season 5 progression.
