OSRS Stackable Net Traps were added to Old School RuneScape on 7 October 2026. They combine a Rope and a Small Fishing Net into one stackable inventory item, making it easier to take several traps on a Hunter trip. You need at least 29 Hunter to make them.
Jagex also changed how failed traps behave. Instead of always retrieving the equipment from the ground and rebuilding it, you can right-click a failed Net Trap and select Reset to activate it again. You can make or buy the combined trap, store it in a Huntsman’s Kit and reset a failed setup without picking up its components.
How to make OSRS Stackable Net Traps
Get a Rope and Small Fishing Net, then use one item on the other while your Hunter level is at least 29. They combine into a single Stackable Net Trap. Make more using additional pairs of materials and the finished items occupy an inventory stack instead of needing a separate rope and net slot for every trap.
Jagex’s announcement doesn’t list a new quest requirement for crafting them. The change is about inventory space and how the equipment is handled, not about skipping the normal Hunter level required for particular creatures. If you need loose ropes for another activity, keep some uncombined.
Where to buy OSRS Stackable Net Traps
Jagex confirms that OSRS Stackable Net Traps are sold at Hunter Shops and can be traded with other players. You can therefore buy the finished item instead of combining rope and net materials yourself. The announcement doesn’t specify a permanent Grand Exchange price, so check the current shop stock or player-trading price rather than relying on a fixed number.
If you’re already carrying a Huntsman’s Kit, the new traps can also be stored there. Stackable inventory supplies are particularly useful when you want to leave slots open for other equipment or collected Hunter resources.

How to use OSRS Stackable Net Traps
Take the finished item to a valid net-trapping spot and interact with the usual trap setup point, using the Stackable Net Trap in place of separate Rope and Small Fishing Net components. This doesn’t mean you can set unlimited traps or ignore a creature’s normal Hunter level. The familiar net-trapping restrictions still apply.
Carrying the combined items is less awkward than transporting the materials separately. You can bring spare traps without sacrificing most of your inventory to ropes and nets. Jagex hasn’t announced any extra catch-rate or Hunter XP bonus for using OSRS Stackable Net Traps.
How to reset failed OSRS Stackable Net Traps
When a net trap fails, it now enters a failed state rather than immediately forcing you to collect everything from the floor. Right-click the failed trap and select Reset. The equipment returns to an active trapping state without rebuilding it from its components.
Jagex says you have a window to reset the failed trap, but the October patch notes don’t give an exact number of ticks or seconds. Check the trap promptly rather than counting on a made-up timer. The Reset option is separate from the ability to stack several unused traps in your inventory.

Which other traps have Reset?
Net Traps, Bird Snares, Rabbit Snares and Magic Boxes gained right-click Reset support on 7 October. If a supported trap fails and remains in its failed state, you can use Reset instead of starting its placement routine again. Each type still follows its normal Hunter requirements and creature rules.
| Hunter equipment | Reset available? |
|---|---|
| Net Trap | Yes, after failure |
| Bird Snare | Yes |
| Rabbit Snare | Yes |
| Magic Box | Yes |
All four resets are confirmed by Jagex. The new OSRS Stackable Net Traps provide an additional inventory advantage beyond the Reset function, which also benefits the other listed trap types.
Can you dismantle OSRS Stackable Net Traps?
No. Jagex explicitly says that OSRS Stackable Net Traps cannot be dismantled back into Rope and Small Fishing Net components. Once you’ve combined the supplies, you have a finished net-trapping item. You can trade or store it, but not reverse the crafting action to recover both original materials.
Make only as many as you expect to use if you also need separate rope and small nets for other activities. This is especially relevant to players preparing multiple Hunter methods at the same time.
What changed for OSRS Stackable Net Traps in October?
Previously, several individual ropes and small nets could use up much of the inventory during a net-trapping trip. After the update, you can carry a stack of finished traps and reset failed setups with fewer clicks. Those two features make repeated Hunter sessions less cumbersome without Jagex claiming to rebalance XP or success rates.
The OSRS Stackable Net Traps update followed earlier Gathering Efficiencies improvements, including support for using Log Basket supplies for Deadfall and Pitfall traps. These are separate Hunter convenience changes, so you don’t need to unlock the earlier features before making the new net traps.
