Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes restore the full dive speed that Infinity Ward temporarily reduced to stop a movement exploit. The November 2 update also changes Shipment spawns, makes UAV Towers less common in DMZ and doubles the duration of the Sedative Inhaler.
Diving slowed after an earlier hotfix reduced its velocity by 23% to counter an unintended speed boost. That temporary restriction has now been lifted. Here’s what changed on November 2, including the fixes for Multiplayer and DMZ, without mixing in older October patches.
Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes: the main changes
The Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes confirm that diving has returned to its intended speed. Infinity Ward has also fixed an exploit that let players stand up from prone without the proper animation. Both changes were made server-side, although minor visual animation glitches still need a separate fix.
Other changes cover the JOKR Launcher, Multiplayer HUD elements, Campaign unlocks and DMZ mission progress.

Why did diving become slower?
A movement exploit allowed players to gain extra speed by diving straight after a sprint jump. Infinity Ward temporarily slowed dives for everyone while working on a fix. The Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes reverse that restriction and address the animation exploit.
This was a server-side change, so you don’t need to alter controller settings or equip a perk to recover the original speed. Some animations may still look wrong, but Infinity Ward says the 23% reduction has been reversed.
Shipment spawns and Multiplayer changes
The Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes include a first round of adjustments to Shipment’s spawn logic. More work on that map is planned, so this isn’t described as the final spawn overhaul. Free for All now uses the Final Killcam rather than Best Play; Infinity Ward is still working on voice chat for players outside parties.
- The After Death Damage widget now uses clearer colours and shows left- and right-side body parts individually.
- Death Skull icons on the HUD are less bright and opaque.
- Out-of-bounds exploits were closed on Sentry and Mumbai, and a tree visual issue was fixed on Mumbai.
- A bright-laser issue that left the centre dot visible during weapon inspections was fixed.
- The Loaded challenge for Cash Mastery now tracks correctly in Inflation.
- Destroying friendly vehicles in Ground War: Combat Outpost no longer counts incorrectly towards challenge progress.
These are the Multiplayer fixes from the Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes. The Infected playlist and exact new DMZ cash payouts were covered in the October 30 update, not this one. The October 29 update had its own separate fixes and economy changes.
Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes: DMZ UAV Tower and equipment changes
DMZ players will notice fewer UAV Towers. Infinity Ward cut their spawn frequency by 40% and randomised their locations. Towers are no longer guaranteed at every point of interest, and the new rules prevent several from spawning in the same area. Deadtown remains an exception because its tower is required for a DMZ Order.
- UAV Towers: 40% fewer spawns, now randomised, with the Deadtown exception.
- Sedative Inhaler: duration increased from 60 seconds to 120 seconds.
- Truce Flag: cooldown cut from 180 seconds to 60 seconds.
The longer inhaler duration helps when you want to move through monitored areas, but it’s not protection from everything. The Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes explicitly say it still does not hide you from a tower activated by an enemy Operator with the UAV Upgrade trait. Infinity Ward intends to address that interaction in a Season 1 update.
DMZ mission fixes from November 2
The Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes also fix cases where UAV Tower objectives showed the wrong status after recapture or use of the Extended Duration Trait. Retired Active Duty Operators should now save properly, and SAM Site capture should work after another squad abandoned or failed its attempt.
Other fixes address Operator’s Bounty progress resetting between deployments and close additional DMZ exploits. Infinity Ward lists the Mumbai out-of-bounds fixes under Multiplayer, not DMZ. The November 2 entry also introduces no new DMZ cash payout amounts; those changes were made in October.
JOKR, Campaign unlocks and stability
Under global changes, the Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes report general crash and stability fixes across modes. The JOKR Launcher also has its Infrared mode temporarily disabled to address an exploit. That’s a short-term restriction, not removal of the whole launcher, and Infinity Ward plans to reverse it when a complete fix is ready.
In Campaign, the Hits Different Finishing Move should now unlock correctly when players meet the requirements. The running notes separately identify a KG-9 Drill Charge Apex Attachment fix as recently updated; don’t mistake that label for a new Season 1 weapon balance change.
What is still being worked on?
The Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes leave some work for later updates. Infinity Ward is still addressing minor movement-animation glitches, further Shipment spawn tuning, Free for All voice chat outside parties and the Sedative Inhaler’s limitation against UAV Upgrade towers.
Those issues remain on Infinity Ward’s follow-up list rather than being part of the fixes already delivered on November 2.
When does Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 start?
The Modern Warfare 4 November 2 patch notes are separate from the Season 1 launch. Infinity Ward and Call of Duty have scheduled Season 1 for 9pm Pacific on November 5, equivalent to 5am GMT on November 6 in the UK and midnight Eastern on November 6. The Warzone integration launches at the same time, with Hajin and Zodiac among its new maps.
If you just want to know whether the slow diving was fixed, the answer is yes: the 23% reduction has been reversed. For Multiplayer, check Shipment and Free for All. In DMZ, the most noticeable changes are fewer UAV Towers, a two-minute Sedative Inhaler and a one-minute Truce Flag cooldown.
