Xbox Series X|S owners see a translucent green finish celebrating 25 years of Xbox, while players on Xbox PC, PlayStation 5, Steam, Battle.net and Nintendo Switch 2 see an alternative mil-spec design.
The differences are purely cosmetic: both versions carry the same attachments and perform identically in combat. If you’ve preordered on PC and are wondering why the weapon isn’t green, your copy is working as intended. Activision only displays that anniversary appearance on Xbox Series X|S consoles.
How to get the Modern Warfare 4 Inner Circuit M4 blueprint
Preorder a digital edition of Modern Warfare 4 on a supported platform before the October 23, 2026 launch. Both Standard and Vault Editions qualify. The blueprint becomes available in the game’s M4 weapon configuration at launch, provided the purchase and redemption are associated with the eligible platform account.
The Modern Warfare 4 Inner Circuit M4 offer is for digital preorders, so an ordinary physical disc purchase should not be treated as guaranteed eligibility. Activision’s conditions require the game on the platform where the reward is redeemed, and the deadline to redeem the blueprint is October 23, 2027.
Why isn’t the Inner Circuit M4 green on PC?
Xbox on PC does not receive the green visual treatment. The Xbox 25th Anniversary appearance is exclusive to the way the weapon renders on Xbox Series X|S. Even a player who preordered from Microsoft’s PC storefront sees the standard mil-spec treatment on Windows.
There’s another important detail about the Modern Warfare 4 Inner Circuit M4: if you’re on PC and encounter an Xbox console player using it, you’ll still see their weapon with the mil-spec appearance. The green design only appears to the player using the blueprint on Xbox Series X|S. It isn’t a selectable skin you can enable in Gunsmith on other platforms.

The Modern Warfare 4 Inner Circuit M4 gun build doesn’t gain better recoil control, damage or aim speed merely because the user is on Xbox. Both appearances use precisely the same five attachments. That is important for crossplay: the colour difference does not create a gameplay advantage.

Activision lists a mobile close-to-mid-range build with the following five unlocked attachments. It’s designed to feel quick in close fights while offering steadier recoil for sustained fire, but the short barrel sacrifices some range and recoil control versus longer M4 configurations.

The Modern Warfare 4 Inner Circuit M4 is built for moving between cover and taking shorter-range engagements, with the muzzle compensating for some of the short barrel’s lost control. The attachments are part of the blueprint rather than separate preorder gifts you must unlock before equipping it.
When does the weapon unlock?
The blueprint unlocks at the full Modern Warfare 4 launch on October 23, 2026. Campaign Early Access from October 16 does not by itself mean you can equip the M4 in Multiplayer before the main launch. You need the purchased game on the preorder platform and the relevant mode to be available.
For Modern Warfare 4 Inner Circuit M4 redemption, Activision sets an October 23, 2027 deadline. Don’t assume preordering on one platform gives you multiple independently redeemable preorder entitlements elsewhere. Check your linked Call of Duty and platform accounts if the blueprint doesn’t appear once the launch modes go live.
Does the Standard Edition qualify?
Yes. Standard and Vault digital preorders both qualify for the blueprint, while Vault adds its own premium extras. Choosing Vault doesn’t give your Inner Circuit a different set of attachments or unlock the green finish on Xbox PC.
