Minecraft Preview 26.70.23 is the Bedrock testing update from 3 November 2026. It adds decorative Calcite blocksets, the Flurry music disc and fixes affecting Packed Ice Bricks, Jukeboxes and freezing. The new content belongs to Preview and Beta builds, not automatically to the standard Bedrock game.
The new Calcite blocks are the headline addition, but this build also fixes several things players were already running into. Redstone builders get corrections to Packed Ice, music playlists behave more cleanly and fire interacts differently with the Freezing effect. Here’s the full practical breakdown.
What Minecraft Preview 26.70.23 adds
Regular Calcite now comes as stairs, slabs and walls, with a Calcite Pillar too. There’s also a Polished Calcite set and Polished Calcite Bricks, each with building variants. These are building blocks, with new shapes for walls, roofs and trim. You can read the separate Calcite blocks recipe guide to compare the Java and Bedrock descriptions.
The other headline addition is Flurry, a music disc composed by Hyper Potions. In this Bedrock Preview, the disc has a 30% chance to appear in an Igloo chest. The useful place to search is an Igloo basement chest; not every Igloo has a basement, and there’s no guaranteed disc in any individual chest. The 30% figure comes from these Bedrock notes and should not be copied across as a Java-specific percentage.

Minecraft Preview 26.70.23 Packed Ice Bricks fixes
Packed Ice Bricks and Chiseled Packed Ice now conduct Redstone signals. You can use the blocks around Redstone builds without the old conductivity problem. Packed Ice Brick Walls no longer stop neighbouring Chests from opening, so a wall next to your storage setup doesn’t have to break its functionality.
You can now put Packed Ice or Packed Ice Bricks in a Stonecutter to make Packed Ice Bricks, slabs, stairs, walls and Chiseled Packed Ice. Brittle Ice, Packed Ice Bricks, Chiseled Packed Ice and Snow Bricks also block light correctly; mobs underneath them should no longer burn in daylight due to the previous lighting issue. The Packed Ice Brick family plays the right block sounds as well. See our Packed Ice Bricks guide for the full crafting progression.
Minecraft Preview 26.70.23 Jukebox and Flurry changes
Minecraft Preview 26.70.23 puts the Flurry music disc into Igloo loot while also adjusting how automated Jukebox playlists behave. Jukeboxes no longer emit vibrations when a disc is taken from or swapped within their playlist. It’s a fix for moving discs around in a playlist, not a change to every sound a Jukebox makes.
Once you’ve found Flurry, play it in a Jukebox or add it to a playlist setup. Our Jukebox Playlist guide explains the chest-based music sequence, while the Flurry disc guide covers where to search. Flurry is part of the new testing content, so check your version if the disc is missing from your world.

Minecraft Preview 26.70.23 Freezing and Ice Ball fixes
In Minecraft Preview 26.70.23, fire prevents the Freezing effect from building up until the fire goes out. The update also stops the constant fizz effect and particles when an entity stands in fire or lava while freezing. Fire still causes its normal damage. Don’t set yourself alight just to avoid freezing.
An Ice Ball kill now shows the proper death message. The patch notes don’t announce a damage change. For more detail about the projectile and which mob drops it, our Minecraft Ice Balls guide covers the earlier changes.
Off-hand swapping in Minecraft Preview 26.70.23
Bedrock players also get a new off-hand shortcut. On a keyboard, press F by default to swap a supported item between your main hand and off-hand. On controller, the Crafting button performs the swap instead of opening the inventory. A “Swap off-hand” prompt appears when the item can go in either hand.
There is one limitation in this preview: Mojang lists a known issue where items that can already be placed in the off-hand slot cannot be swapped using the keybind. If F does nothing for one of those items, that is a problem with this build, not a step you have missed.
How to play Minecraft Preview 26.70.23
Minecraft Preview is available on Xbox, PlayStation, Windows and iOS. Android players use the Google Play Beta programme instead. Join the appropriate testing release for your device and verify that version 26.70.23 is installed before looking for the new features. Mojang warns that test versions can be unstable, so use copied saves where possible.
This is a Bedrock test build, not a Java snapshot. Java players should use Java 26.4 Snapshot 7 for its own changelog, particularly for keyboard navigation and the distinct Java Freezing changes. Mojang hasn’t given a stable release date in this changelog.
