Minecraft Dungeons II Sift Dimension is the sequel’s major new world: a vibrant, soul-filled dimension reached through rifts that appear across the interconnected adventure. Minecraft Live has already shown named areas including the Meadow and the Carapace, while the wider story links strange events in the Sift with the crisis unfolding in the Overworld.
The Sift is not simply a reskinned mission node. Dungeons II moves away from the original game’s isolated mission-table structure, so discovering a rift happens inside a world built around connected regions, quests, settlements, variable caves and fast-travel points. That makes entering another dimension part of exploration rather than a separate menu choice.

The big mechanical clue for Minecraft Dungeons II Sift Dimension is the rift system. Minecraft Live describes players stumbling across rifts in the world and being transported into the Sift, so the new dimension is woven into the route you are already travelling rather than locked behind a standalone “choose dimension” menu in the material shown so far.
Because the sequel finally adds manual jumping, those rifts also sit inside a more vertical exploration model. Mojang has shown heroes leaping between platforms and through openings, which gives the Sift room to use traversal as well as combat.
The Meadow and the Carapace
Mojang has named at least two Sift areas: the Meadow and the Carapace. The footage presents the dimension as colourful and bioluminescent rather than simply dark or corrupted, with soul energy acting as a strong visual thread across its environments and enemies.
That does not give us a complete biome list for Minecraft Dungeons II Sift Dimension. More areas may exist in the final game, but the useful pre-launch facts are the locations Mojang has actually named rather than fan-made guesses based on trailer backgrounds.
How the Sift fits the story
The central crisis affects two worlds. Main quests send players through both the Overworld and the Sift as they investigate strange events, while the Illager High Council and soul-corrupted threats provide part of the broader conflict.
That setup makes the dimension more than optional scenery. Even though side content will branch away from the main path, the published quest description places the Sift directly inside the story progression.
What to look for when you find a rift
Do not treat a rift like a disposable teleporter. In an interconnected game, the location around an entrance can matter just as much as the destination. Check the world map, nearby travel hubs and any active quest markers before jumping through so you know where you entered and how the route connects back to the Overworld.
This is especially useful in co-op. The world map can help players navigate and teleport to nearby friends, so Minecraft Dungeons II Sift Dimension should be easier to explore as a group even when someone wanders toward a different point of interest.
What is still unknown before launch
Mojang has not published a complete Sift map, every rift location, a full enemy list or a definitive order for visiting its areas. Those are exactly the details worth updating from the live game rather than pretending they can be reconstructed from trailers.
For now, Minecraft Dungeons II Sift Dimension is already substantial enough to understand: a real second world, entered through rifts, tied to the main crisis, with named environments and its own threats rather than a cosmetic variation of an Overworld dungeon.
