Minecraft Dungeons II Blub Pet is the squishy companion bundled with the Deluxe Edition. Mojang explicitly describes Blub as a pet that cannot fight battles, which makes this one refreshingly simple: Blub is there to follow your hero and look adorable, not to add damage, tank enemies or replace one of the new talisman slots.

The pet belongs to the same Deluxe bundle as the Soul Cape, four dark-golden hero skins and the first two future DLC packs. It is separate from the Twisted Chicken preorder companion, so players who own one should not assume they automatically own the other.

The Minecraft Dungeons II Blub Pet comes from the Deluxe entitlement rather than a world drop. If you are running Standard or Game Pass without the Deluxe add-on, repeatedly clearing quests will not unlock Blub unless Mojang later introduces another route.

For Deluxe owners, the useful check is whether the Soul Pack is installed or registered to the same account running the game. Blub and the Soul Cape belong to that named bundle, so their absence points toward add-on ownership or installation before it points toward a hidden quest.

Blub does not fight for you

Mojang’s own description says Blub cannot fight battles. That is important because Dungeons II does have gameplay systems that can put creatures beside you. Xbox Wire, for example, described a bone talisman that summoned a dog companion which attacked, drew aggro and respawned after being defeated.

Blub is not that. Minecraft Dungeons II Blub Pet should be treated as cosmetic company, while combat summons belong to gear or talisman effects that can influence a build.

Blub vs Twisted Chicken

The Twisted Chicken comes from the preorder package; Blub comes from Deluxe. They are different cosmetic tracks even though both can appear beside your hero. Buying the higher edition does not retroactively turn a missed preorder into a Twisted Chicken entitlement.

Likewise, preordering Standard can qualify for preorder items without giving you Minecraft Dungeons II Blub Pet. Check the name of the pack you own instead of treating every launch companion as interchangeable.

Does using Blub cost a gear slot?

Nothing in Mojang’s Deluxe description places Blub inside the twelve combat slots. Those slots are used by the hero’s combat equipment categories, including weapons, artifacts, four armor pieces and talismans. The pet is presented outside that power system.

That separation is good news if you simply like the companion. You are not choosing between Blub and a useful talisman or artifact every time you build a character.

What Blub adds to Deluxe

Blub is the immediate visual reward in a bundle whose biggest long-term value may be the two future DLC packs. If you enjoy cosmetics, the pet helps the edition feel different from day one. If you do not care about cosmetics, judge the purchase on the content entitlement instead.

Either way, Minecraft Dungeons II Blub Pet is easy to understand once the marketing layers are separated: Deluxe companion, no listed combat role, and no connection to the preorder chicken requirement.

Blub is therefore best thought of as part of the Deluxe presentation rather than part of a combat build. Mojang explicitly says the companion cannot fight battles, which rules out the most common misunderstanding around the Minecraft Dungeons II Blub Pet. Your damage, survivability and utility still come from weapons, armor pieces, talismans, artifacts, effects and enchantments, not from having Blub following behind you.
