Metro Redux PC Hotfix was released on October 23, 2026 for Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux, following the October 22 next-gen PC update. It fixes missing high resolutions, Steam Overlay problems, Epic Games achievements, Ukrainian text rendering and access to the free Deep Silver comic.
Deep Silver has published the hotfix build numbers for all three PC storefronts. Steam uses different numbers for Metro 2033 Redux and Last Light Redux; Epic and GOG list one shared number for both games. Use the table below to identify the October 23 release.
Metro Redux PC Hotfix: Build numbers for both games

| Store | Metro 2033 Redux | Metro: Last Light Redux |
|---|---|---|
| Steam | 26159616 | 26159638 |
| Epic Games Store | 0.1.0.28 | 0.1.0.28 |
| GOG | 3.0.0.19 | 3.0.0.19 |
The build labels are specific to each storefront. A Steam build number won’t match Epic’s or GOG’s format, even though they cover the same five corrections. Compare the number for your copy of the game rather than expecting a single version across all launchers.
1440p, 4K and missing resolution fixes
The Metro Redux PC Hotfix fixes a problem where the October 22 release failed to detect higher display resolutions. If your 1440p or 4K monitor wasn’t appearing correctly in the game’s graphics menu, this is the follow-up patch that addresses it.
The main next-gen update also fixed stretched images, incorrect aspect ratios and fullscreen problems on high-resolution displays. The October 23 hotfix specifically deals with missing high-resolution choices after that larger update.
Metro Redux PC Hotfix Steam Overlay repair
The Metro Redux PC Hotfix restores the Steam Overlay in the updated Steam games. After installing it, use Steam’s normal in-game shortcut, provided you’ve enabled the overlay in Steam settings.
This repair is for Steam players who lost the overlay after the next-gen update. There’s no need to change your save files or graphics configuration to get Steam’s built-in overlay back.
Metro Redux PC Hotfix Epic achievements
On Epic Games Store, the Metro Redux PC Hotfix repairs achievements. The October 22 update added Epic Online Services integration, and the follow-up fixes achievement functionality in that PC version.
Make sure the Epic Games Launcher finishes downloading the current game files, then restart Metro. The October 23 build is 0.1.0.28 for both titles on Epic. Steam’s achievements are handled separately.
Free comic account reward fix
The Metro Redux PC Hotfix also repairs access to the free Deep Silver Account comic. The next-gen update lets players link Metro 2033 Redux or Last Light Redux to their account and unlock a Dark Horse Comics reward.
To claim it, follow the QR code inside a supported game, sign in to your Deep Silver Account and finish the link. Then open the game’s comic page on DeepSilver.com using the same account. Install the hotfix first if you couldn’t access that reward in the original PC update.
Ukrainian text rendering fix
The final Metro Redux PC Hotfix correction fixes Ukrainian localisation text that wasn’t displaying properly. It’s a text-rendering repair, not an additional language or a change to the campaign.
These five corrections are separate from the broader next-gen features. The October 22 update added higher-resolution textures, DLSS, FSR, TSR and general stability fixes; the following day’s patch dealt with the specific problems listed here.
How to install the PC hotfix
On Steam, check the game’s Downloads or update status in your Library. On Epic Games Store, let the launcher finish its pending update. In GOG GALAXY, choose the current game version and apply the available update.
Steam and GOG also offer official legacy builds for players who need the older system requirements. A legacy branch runs the previous release, so switch back to the normal current branch to receive the next-gen features and this hotfix.
Which version should you be playing?
If you’re using DLSS, FSR or 4A TSR and want the latest display corrections, keep the updated PC version installed. The Metro Redux PC Hotfix table shows the identifiers announced on October 23; a subsequent patch would have its own version number.
The legacy option is mainly for PCs that don’t meet the new hardware requirements. It isn’t another route for installing the October 23 fixes. Select the current game branch to use those repairs.
