Is FNAF Security Breach 2 confirmed? Not officially, but a new teaser released by Steel Wool Studios on August 8, 2026 has given fans some extremely strong evidence that another game connected to Security Breach is on the way.
The cryptic teaser features Vanny and hides a number 2 within the imagery, immediately leading to speculation that Steel Wool is preparing Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach 2. However, the studio has not currently announced a game using that title.
That distinction matters. There is clearly something new being teased, but Security Breach 2 remains the name fans are using for the project rather than an officially confirmed title.
Is FNAF Security Breach 2 Confirmed by Steel Wool?
Is FNAF Security Breach 2 confirmed by Steel Wool Studios? At the moment, no official announcement has named the project Security Breach 2.
What Steel Wool has done is release an unusually specific teaser.
The August 8 video initially appears to be another character-focused post before glitching and briefly revealing Vanny. When the hidden imagery is examined, a number 2 can also be seen, giving fans an obvious reason to believe the teaser represents a sequel.
The evidence is strong, but the official title is still missing.

Why Fans Think Security Breach 2 Is Coming
For anyone asking is FNAF Security Breach 2 confirmed, the biggest evidence comes from the combination of Vanny and the number 2.
Vanny is heavily associated with Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach. She appeared as an antagonist in the game and became one of the most recognisable characters introduced during the Security Breach era.
Using Vanny alone would already be enough to generate interest in a continuation of that storyline.
Adding a number 2 makes the implication much harder to ignore.
The hidden imagery has subsequently spread across the FNAF community, with fans reconstructing the briefly displayed Vanny frames to get a clearer look at her new appearance. FNAF-focused accounts have also highlighted the teaser while discussion has centred on whether Steel Wool is pointing towards a direct sequel.
Has the Name FNAF Security Breach 2 Been Announced?
No. This is the most important answer when considering is FNAF Security Breach 2 confirmed.
Steel Wool Studios has not announced the official name Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach 2.
There is currently no title card, store listing or announcement page using that name.
Calling the project Security Breach 2 therefore goes slightly further than the confirmed information available right now.
The safer description is that Steel Wool has teased a new FNAF project featuring Vanny and a prominent number 2, which strongly suggests some form of sequel or continuation.
Until the studio names the game, however, we cannot know whether it will actually be called Security Breach 2.
Is Vanny Confirmed to Return?
The new teaser does confirm that Steel Wool is deliberately using Vanny imagery for whatever it is currently teasing.
The character appears briefly during the glitch sequence in a noticeably different form from her original Security Breach appearance.
What has not been confirmed is exactly what that means for the story.
Steel Wool has not revealed whether this is the same Vanny, whether Vanessa is involved, when the new project takes place or how it connects to previous games.
The teaser also does not confirm whether Vanny will be the main antagonist, a playable character or something else entirely.
For now, her appearance is a clue rather than a complete story reveal.
Could It Be Ruin 2 Instead of Security Breach 2?
Is FNAF Security Breach 2 confirmed specifically, or could the teaser represent something different? A continuation of Ruin is another possibility that cannot currently be ruled out.
Security Breach: Ruin continued the story of the original game and introduced Cassie as its playable protagonist. The DLC also pushed Steel Wool’s wider FNAF storyline forward rather than simply retelling events from Security Breach.
Because Steel Wool has not announced the title of its teased project, the number 2 could relate to a sequel without necessarily meaning a game literally called Security Breach 2.
A Ruin continuation, another Security Breach-era game or a differently titled sequel could all fit the information currently available.
There is not enough evidence to choose between them as fact.
Is There a Security Breach 2 Release Date?
No Security Breach 2 release date has been announced.
This follows directly from the answer to is FNAF Security Breach 2 confirmed: Steel Wool has not yet formally announced the game itself under that name, so there is naturally no official release schedule attached to it.
The August 8 teaser did not include a year, date, platforms or preorder information.
There is also no gameplay trailer currently showing what the project will look like.
Any dates appearing online at this stage should therefore be treated as speculation unless they come from Steel Wool Studios, ScottGames or another official source.
When Could Security Breach 2 Be Officially Announced?
Steel Wool has not said when it will reveal more.
The appearance of a deliberately hidden Vanny design and the number 2 suggests the studio wants fans to start looking towards its next FNAF project, but there is no confirmed date for a full reveal.
A future announcement could provide the official title, reveal trailer, release window and platforms.
Until that happens, the answer to is FNAF Security Breach 2 confirmed remains technically no.
What is confirmed is that Steel Wool Studios has deliberately teased Vanny again, the teaser contains a number 2, and something new is being set up. Whether that project ultimately carries the name Security Breach 2 is the part we are still waiting to learn.
