HYPERyuki Snowboard Syndicate game modes are Challenge, Race and Chill. Developer Wabisabi Design and publisher Acclaim have outlined three ways to play this colourful arcade snowboarder, each built for a different mood. Challenge rewards scores and objectives, Race is about reaching the finish ahead of opponents, and Chill is free exploration without a compulsory finish line.
The game is scheduled for Nintendo Switch 2 in early 2027. There is no exact day or UK launch time yet, but the publisher’s official feature breakdown explains how its modes are intended to work. Tricks matter across the slopes, although they serve different purposes depending on your choice.
How HYPERyuki Snowboard Syndicate game modes differ

Challenge focuses on leaderboards, trick chains and objectives. Race involves competing downhill while refilling boost with tricks. Chill is for exploring the mountain courses, practising moves and hunting for secrets. None of these is a separately purchased add-on, and the official site treats all three as parts of the same game.
For players choosing among HYPERyuki Snowboard Syndicate game modes, the most useful distinction is whether you want a measurable challenge, an opponent or time to roam. Acclaim hasn’t said you’ll need to clear one mode to access another.
Challenge: points, rails and trinkets
Acclaim says Challenge tasks riders with grinding rails, collecting trinkets and linking tricks while completing objectives for a strong leaderboard score. It encourages repeat attempts as you improve a route. There is more to it than reaching the foot of the mountain, because the journey down is where you earn points.
Among the HYPERyuki Snowboard Syndicate game modes, Challenge puts the clearest emphasis on a score. The precise scoring multipliers and course objectives will be clearer when the game launches.
Race: boost powered by tricks
Race sends players downhill against computer-controlled or human opponents. Pulling off tricks refills the boost meter, creating a choice between taking the fastest-looking line and risking a move that might help you accelerate. Style is useful because it affects speed, not merely because it looks good.
Race is the competitive side of HYPERyuki Snowboard Syndicate game modes. Nintendo confirms local split-screen for up to four riders and online racing for up to eight, although those player limits do not automatically apply to every other mode. Acclaim hasn’t published the boost restored by individual tricks or the full button layout.
Chill: ride at your own pace
Chill lets you wander through the courses, practise movement and find secrets without the requirement to win a race. It is the relaxed option in a game otherwise keen on speed and ambitious tricks. Players can use it to see the terrain and enjoy the sights without being judged by a leaderboard.
For that reason, Chill sits apart from the other HYPERyuki Snowboard Syndicate game modes. Exploring is not the same as completing a confirmed story campaign, though, and the publisher has not described cooperative quests in this mode. Avoid assuming every location contains a named collectible.
Custom boards and cosmetics
Acclaim also advertises unlockable clothing, custom board graphics and other visual rewards. Exploration and racing are both connected with earning things for your rider, but no complete item checklist or confirmed price for individual cosmetics has been announced. There is no basis for calling these rewards paid DLC.
The varied HYPERyuki Snowboard Syndicate game modes give riders reasons to revisit courses. Whether a particular outfit requires a score, race win or hidden item remains a question for official launch information, not a detail that should be filled in from screenshots.
