Hollomite is one of the various secondary mission objective minerals in Deep Rock Galactic, so knowing how it looks can mean extra pay.

How does Hollomite look in Deep Rock Galactic?

Hollomite is typically a thin dull purple pillar or protrusion with deeper shining purple gems jutting out of it. It is used exclusively as a secondary mission objective, meaning that gathering enough of it will boost both your mission experience and pay.

Similar to the likes of Fossils, Ebonuts and Boolo Caps, its only purpose is to be gathered for the mission objective rewards. Unlike those, Hollomite must actually be mined like regular minerals such as Morkite, and cannot be gathered by simply pressing the interact key while looking at it.

The fastest way to mine Hollomite in Deep rock is similar to other crystalline pillar-type minerals, you’ll want to mine at the bottom of the rock to remove the supporting part of it, at which point the entire crystal will collapse and allow you to gather it immediately.

This isn’t always the case though, if your Hollomite has spawned directly next to a wall and is touching it, the entire crystal may be considered supported by the wall, much as gold or Morkite vein would be.

In that case, you’ll just have to mine it out bit by bit.

Just like other side objectives, gathering Hollomite awards extra money and experience upon mission completion if turned in, but it is not strictly required to complete the mission.

If you’re struggling to find the last few pieces to complete the objective, make sure that everyone has deposited to Molly the Mule, as objective progress does not update on the mineral being gathered, but instead when it is returned to Management. If that still isn’t enough, don’t waste too long looking for it, as the side objective bonuses are a fair bit less than a complete set of mission rewards anyway, making it ineffective to waste time to hunt down more of this particular crystal.
