Deep Rock Galactic: Where to find Morkite and what does it look like?

Morkite is used as the primary Objective for mining missions in Deep Rock Galactic. What does Morkite look like, and where can you find it?

Where to find Morkite in Deep Rock Galactic

Morkite is similar to the basic resources Gold and Nitra, in that it will spawn pretty much throughout the entire mission in Deep Rock. The main difference is that it only appears in missions where it is part of the objective, and does not make random appearances otherwise, as Gold and Nitra do, which appear in every mission regardless of objectives.

As for what Morkite looks like, it has an almost liquid greyish-green to teal sheen to it, making it distinct from other minerals due to this shine effect. It also takes a distinct visual shape before it is mined, and falls to the ground in large cubes of the same colouration when mined.

The main difficulty spotting it is in larger chambers that are harder to light up, as its dark colour can blend into the background a bit in low light conditions.

This mineral does have an interesting detail you should be aware of though. It spawns with increasing frequency the deeper into the mission you get. In fact, mining expedition missions often have a dead-end chamber at the end with several veins of Morkite.

The reason for this is simple. Morkite is the mission objective, and can’t be used for anything else. It’s entirely possible you wander far enough and miss the Morkite scattered throughout the mission, or have it spawn in odd places like in the corners or tops of a huge chamber room.

As such, finding Morkite is essential to ending the mission, so if you do explore far enough to reach the natural end mission cave, you’ll find quite a lot of Morkite there waiting for you, as a way to make sure you’ll be able to complete the main task.

There’s no reason to go this deep unless you can’t find enough Morkite to complete the mission elsewhere though. As I’ve mentioned, Morkite is used exclusively as a mission objective and has no other purpose.

In cases where you can’t reach the Morkite in a solo mission, you can always order Bosco to mine it out for you, though if you’re playing solo you might find that swapping class to a different dwarf can also make your life easier.

As far as Deep Rock Galactic is concerned after you return to the space station with your Morkite, that Morkite no longer exists – much like Nitra, it exists only in the context of missions. Gold on the other hand adds to your credit balance.
