Genshin Impact: Yelan and Shinobu may be arriving in 2.7

Two future playable characters in Genshin Impact, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu might be arriving at the game during the 2.7 update, according to new rumors. Shinobu has been teased since the arrival of Inazuma, and was expected to appear before Sumeru was introduced, but Yelan was somehow more obscure and had more uncertainty of when she would be introduced.
Regardless of their status, more information for both of them have been surfacing as we’re getting closer to the next version, and there’s a big chance that at least one of them will be introduced during it to become playable later.
Yelan and Shinobu arriving in Genshin Impact 2.7
Lumie has once again shared what “a little bird” told them. The last time similar posts were made, the “bird” said that Yae would have a solo banner and Ayato would be featured at 2.6 first half. Both of these pieces of information were true. And now, there’s another one:

Yelan had her model recently revealed during the start of the 2.6 beta test, and speculation started to be made around her. But at first, that wouldn’t necessarily mean that she would arrive, since characters may have their model leaked months ahead of their actual release (Yun Jin and Shenhe, for example).
Shinobu doesn’t have a model yet, but we do know more about her since she’s mentioned quite a lot around Inazuma. Yelan, on the other hand, has never been mentioned by name in-game yet.
But with the 2.6 patch just ahead of us, some leaks have already started to appear, and it seems that those characters will gain more relevancy, which may indicate that Lumie’s claims may be right. Other leaks have also suggested the same version for their releases.
This would mean that Hoyoverse will soon reveal them through social media. Yelan’s banner would be the first, and Shinobu would be featured in a rerun. The fittest candidate would be Itto since she’s close to him.
More information on Yelan and Shinobu
Leaker Blank has stated that more information about both of the girls will be available during the Chasm update. Yelan is highly speculated to make an appearance, similar to how Rosaria was introduced in Dragonspine back in the 1.2 version.
There are also new voice lines about Kuki Shinobu, which is another indicator for her to be introduced soon.
Who are Yelan and Kuki Shinobu?
Not much is known about Yelan. Her name was dropped around scarce leaks since the arrival of Inazuma, but nothing was made concrete. Her case seems similar to Eula, who was completely introduced in 1.5 and had no prior mentions.
With her design revealed during the beta, alongside her being a Hydro 5-star Bow character, theories have been made, such as her being the character described in the Gambler artifact set or the “fox of the Yangshang Teahouse” mentioned in Liyue’s boards.
Shinobu, on the other hand, is a member of the Arataki Gang, and seems to be the person that keeps Itto in check, while also bailing him out of the jail occasionally. We received more information on her as Inazuma’s story progressed, and she should be soon fully introduced.

If Yelan and Shinobu are really arriving at 2.7, this could confirm other rumors about Kazuha having a rerun during 2.8, and that Shikanoin Heizou would be the last Inazuma character introduced before Sumeru, alongside a rerun. We’ll have to wait a little bit more to be sure.
Genshin Impact is currently on its 2.5 version, “When the Sakura Blooms”, which brought the new playable character Yae Miko along with some character reruns, new story quests, events, weapons, and enemies, including a new Weekly Boss.
