A “tradition” in Genshin Impact is that whenever the community trash talks a new character, it will most likely become one of the strongest characters in the whole game. Having a somewhat controversial release, but still having achieved the most sales on a single banner to this date, the Raiden Shogun is the best option for many teams.

Similar to Albedo, Kazuha and Kokomi, she was initially perceived as a niche character and not as strong as the other playable Archons. But after a few weeks, players discovered her true potential, and while only a few people skipped her, many still regret not having gotten her back in her banner.

Since she’ll be back in a few days, we’ll showcase some of the best teams for Raiden Shogun, one of the most versatile characters in Genshin Impact. Notice that team efficiency varies according to how strong your characters are and with specific situations, so there’s not a “definitive” team, but the most efficient ones.

The best teams for Raiden Shogun

1 – National Raiden

  • Raiden Shogun, Xiangling, Xingqiu, Bennett

One of the most popular teams overall, it consists of using some of the best 4-star characters in the game all together in a single comp. It gives you Pyro resonance, Hydro and Pyro reactions nonstop, an attack buff, healing and tons of energy recharge. Raiden must be the last one to use her Burst in order to fill everyone back to a second rotation.

Tested and proved, this is one of the best and cheapest teams one can build. The 4-star gang can work with almost every carry, but Raiden allows them to have their Bursts up more easily if they cannot do it by themselves. Pretty easy and straightforward to use.

2 – Main Carry

  • Raiden, Kazuha, Kujou Sara, Bennett

Completely focused on Raiden as the main damage dealer, the strategy here is to apply Electro with her skill, Swirl it with Kazuha and use Bennett, Sara and Raiden’s Burst, in this specific order. Bonus points if Sara is C6, as her buff will also give the Shogun some extra Critical Damage.

Kazuha can be replaced by any other Anemo character that can apply the Viridescent Venerer debuff such as Sucrose or Sayu, but he’s BiS here as he also increases the elemental damage for the Swirled element, so be careful to do not Swirl only Bennett’s Pyro by accident.

3 – Eula carry

  • Eula, Raiden, Any Cryo battery, Any other support

This team is mainly focused on Eula instead of the Shogun, using her skills to cover for Eula downtime. Her constant Electro hits make her a great support to apply Superconductor, and she helps a lot with energy issues Eula players may face.

But since that may not be enough, another Cryo battery is a good call, and the extra critical chance from Cryo resonance is always great. Rosaria is a great offensive choice, even better if she’s C6, but Diona or Kaeya are good options too. The final slot can be filled by any support you need, such as a shielder or healer.

Alternatively, you may play Eula and Raiden paired with 2 Geo characters such as Albedo, Zhongli or Yun Jin. The Geo resonance is a big damage increase for both of the girls, allowing their Bursts to reach even higher damages even without any other buffs.

4 – Overload team

  • Raiden, Yoimiya, Xingqiu, Any other support

Yoimiya also received some backlash during her release, but her potential to literally melt bosses is undeniable. When facing such Abyss rooms, pairing her with Raiden Shogun may be one of the best team options you can get, as the Overload reactions won’t stagger bosses and deal quite some damage.

Xingqiu is here to help with extra damage, reactions and utility, while the last spot is flexible. You can get a shielder, a healer or another damaging/utility unit. Raiden helps whenever you need to deal some extra AoE damage, since energy is not quite an issue for Yoimiya at least.

This team can be played with any Pyro DPS, and Xingqiu is also replaceable, but its biggest weakness is throwing smaller enemies away from you with Overload, which can hurt your damage with melee characters.

5 – Taser Raiden

  • Raiden, Sucrose, Fischl, Hydro support

Taser teams are quite popular. If you are not familiar with the term, it refers to a team focused on Electrocharged reactions, normally paired with Sucrose as a main DPS who boosts its damage with her passive abilities. Beidou is normally used here, but Raiden can also fit in.

By constantly Swirling Hydro and Electro, you can get quite some damage going for the team. Xingqiu is the usual choice, but if you go with Kokomi or Mona, you may have an extra Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers bonus on your main DPS.

Raiden here has the advantage of having a huge burst of damage. Energy Recharge is not an issue, but she may also help with that. You may also play with Yae as the other Electro, since Raiden helps her a lot and her damage can be quite good. Beidou can also be used, but sadly her Burst won’t proc during Raiden’s.

There are many other teams that can get a huge boost from Raiden Shogun, as she’s one of the best and most valuable characters in the game currently. She can be played with many teams, and you should find one that suits you best.
