Genshin Impact: Is Bennett C6 worth it?

is bennet c6 worth it featured

One of the oldest discussions in Genshin Impact is about whether activating Bennett C6 is worth it or not. While most characters are, in almost every situation, way better with their Constellations active, the unlucky boy’s specific case is debatable, since it does grant some good bonuses, but also hinders some of his overall potential.

The Raiden Shogun/Kokomi rerun banner has been announced, and Bennett will be featured in it. With that, some players may face the dilemma of activating it or not.

Some avoid the constellation like the plague, while some embrace it and can make good use of the extra character copy. Is there a better choice?

Here is all you need to know about Bennett’s last constellation, and in which cases you may be better off with or without it.

How does Bennett C6 work?

Bennett’s final constellation, “Fire Ventures with Me”, affects his Burst, and has the following description:

Sword, Claymore or Polearm-wielding characters inside Fantastic Voyage’s radius gain a 15% Pyro DMG Bonus and their weapons are infused with Pyro.

The Pyro Bonus is a great addition to Benny’s support or, even, DPS potential. Characters like Diluc, Hu Tao, and Xiangling would be very pleased with this extra bonus. But the problem is its secondary effect. The Pyro infusion makes it that any other character that isn’t Pyro has their own attacks infused with a non-optimal element.

And unless stated otherwise, Bennett will overwrite any other infusion. This includes Keqing, Ayaka, or Chongyun skills, for example. This makes it harder to use a C6 Bennett alongside such characters, even more with Physical DPS like Eula or Razor.

Curiously, almost every character with elemental infusion in its core kit has the “cannot be overridden” description somewhere in their skills. Examples are Hu Tao, Itto, Raiden, and Xiao.

When should I activate it?

If you mainly use Pyro characters, going for the C6 might be a good call. Xiangling is one of the strongest Pyros in the whole game, and the extra damage would be great for her. She’s frequently paired with Bennett in the famous National Team, so activating his C6 might be worth it in those cases.

If your characters can play around the infusion, there’s also little to no problem in activating it just to get rid of the “!” in his icon. Itto can still go with a 3 Geo + Bennett team with no big problems, or Xiao can still plunge with Anemo infusion.

If you mainly use Catalyst or Bow characters, such as Ganyu, Childe, or Klee, the infusion will not affect them, but the extra damage will, so it may be a good call.

When shouldn’t I activate it?

If you play any physical DPS with Bennett, activating it is not a possibility. The main source of their damage would be lost during his Burst, and you wouldn’t even gain anything from the Pyro bonus.

The same goes for Ayaka or Keqing users since their infusions are overridden by it. Some characters will lose some team potential in spite of others.

TLDR; is Bennett C6 worth it?

In the end, there’s not a definitive solution, but the safest answer is no, it isn’t. In many situations, it wouldn’t affect you at all, but you never know when it could. Even if you don’t own Eula, you might get her in a future rerun. Ayaka might be coming back during 2.6, and sacrificing their potential with Bennett is not a good call.

While the extra damage and infusion are very beneficial for Pyro characters, since it makes other elements less efficient, it’s not a very good choice. There are some creative ways to play around it, such as using Rosaria or Kaeya to melt their own attacks, or even crazy things like Pyro Keqing with Lavawalker, but those are extremely niche builds.

In order to prevent you from using one of the most powerful supports in the whole game without restrictions, avoid activating Bennett C6 unless you’re certain of what you’re doing. If you don’t care about the infusion, just go for it. But do accept that some characters may not live to their max potential when paired with Bennett anymore.

An option to simply toggle constellations on and off would be the best solution to this problem, but it has been long requested by the community, and to this date, Hoyoverse seems to have no plans to add such a feature. A real shame.
