Rust is a 4-star bow in Genshin Impact. As its name suggests, this bow is completely rusted!

This article will discuss Rust, including where you can get it, its stats, the ascension materials required, and recommended characters.
Where to get Rust
This weapon can only be obtained via Wish. It is available in the Standard Wish, Character Event Wishes, and Weapon Event Wishes. It sometimes has its drop rate increased in the Epitome Invocation weapon banner.

Rust Effects
This bow’s passive skill is called Rapid Firing:
Increases Normal Attack DMG by 40% but decreases Charged Attack DMG by 10%.

Recommended Characters
Since this weapon is heavily focused on increasing your character’s Normal ATK DMG, this is best for bow characters who rely on Normal Attacks.
For 5-star characters, we highly recommend the Pyro character Yoimiya to equip Rust. This Pyro character primarily deals damage using her Normal Attacks after she uses her Elemental Skill. Of course, if you have her signature weapon, the 5-star bow Thundering Pulse, you might go for it. However, Rust is undeniably her best 4-star/free-to-play option.
Another character who can benefit from equipping Rust is the 5-star Hydro character Tartaglia/Childe. This character has the ability to apply the Riptide status to enemies, which deals AoE Hydro DMG based on his Normal Attack DMG when he attacks them in various ways. With this bow equipped, such damage will be significantly increased. However, if you have his signature weapon, the 5-star bow Polar Star, this is still his BiS (Best-in-slot).
As for 4-star characters, we recommend this bow to characters built as Physical DPS characters. Such bow characters can possibly include the Electro characters Fischl and Kujou Sara. Again, Rust will only be good for them if you’re using them as Physical DPS characters who rely on their Normal Attacks.
