Hoyoverse has officially revealed the Ganyu and Kokomi banner composition. These banners will go through until the end of the first Sumeru update and feature the return of both 5-star girls to the spotlight once again.

While both had fairly recent reruns compared to other characters like Childe or Hu Tao, the 3.0 banners seem to have been prepared to welcome back returning players since this was such a huge patch for the game introducing the Dendro element and its many reactions. Popular, useful characters were also starring the banners in this patch’s first half.

The Ganyu and Kokomi banner also marks the introduction of Dori, Treasure of the Dream Garden. The merchant which we met in the Archon Quests was received with mixed approval, and she’s a 4-star Electro Claymore healer with some unique aspects to her kit. She’s also the first healer from the Sumeru region and shares her element and role with another recently released character.

The Ganyu/Kokomi duo will take over the Tighnari/Zhongli banners as the featured characters. As usual with duo banners, both share the same Pity count and the same featured 4-stars, so you’re free to roll in any of them according to your desired 5-star.

The banner’s coadjuvants are the 4-star characters. This banner features Dori, Sucrose, and Xingqiu back in the banners. Again, the banner seems to focus on new players as these characters are pretty much staples in many popular compositions out there, and chances are that veteran players already have them, possibly at C6.

As for the weapon banners, it will feature the Amos’ Bow and Everlasting Moonglow as the featured weapons, being the signature weapons for Ganyu and Kokomi, respectively. While the catalyst is infamous for not being such a great weapon, Amos’ Bow is one of the best choices for Ganyu, and getting it from the Standard Banner is always a gamble, so being featured is great.

For 4-stars, we have the Sacrificial Sword, Rust, Eye of Perception, Dragon’s Bane and Favonius Greatsword as the featured rate-up in this banner. These are generally good weapons for many characters and can be helpful until you can get the best option for a character you’re building. Sacrificial Sword and Favonius Greatsword, in particular, may already be this option.

Should I pull in the Ganyu and Kokomi banner?

Both of these 5-stars are popular for many reasons. Their appearances and personalities aside, both of them are some of the best characters in their respective role, and if you need a new DPS character or a strong healer, it’s recommended to roll for any of them if you can.

Ganyu was considered broken from the moment she was released in 1.2 and still holds the title to this day with her insane charged shots. Although Dendro does not react with Cryo, she got many indirect buffs with the release of supports such as Shenhe and Kazuha and other bows such as Polar Star and Thundering Pulse, which work well on her.

Kokomi had a rough release in which she was considered bad for some time. But players eventually discovered how flexible she was in compositions, and the introduction of the Ocean-Hued Clam artifact set made her one of the best healers in the game. She’s currently very popular in Abyss teams thanks to her Hydro application, heals and damage.

If you’re a new or returning player, you should consider rolling at the Ganyu and Kokomi banners as they can make your life easier. But if you dislike their gameplay or are saving for a future rerun/new character. Go for the ones you like as this is the real endgame.

Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, iOS, and Android. A Nintendo Switch version is stated to be in development.
