Genshin Impact: Every Dendro Elemental Reaction
Sumeru is finally here! With this new region comes the highly anticipated Dendro element, and with this new element comes every Dendro Elemental Reaction to discover and get used to.
If you’ve already unlocked the Dendro Traveler or managed to roll for Tighnari or Collei from the new banners, you must have tried their Talents out on different enemies. These abilities might look green and lively, but we’re pretty sure they’re deadly!
While doing so, you might have triggered some Elemental Reactions which you are unsure about. Don’t worry! We have listed all the reactions you can trigger with Dendro in this article.
Burning: Pyro + Dendro Elemental Reaction
How to Trigger | Dendro + Pyro |
Damage Type | Pyro |
Damage Multiplier | 0.25x |
Among all the Dendro Elemental Reactions, Burning is definitely the most familiar as this has always been in the game.
This Dendro Elemental Reaction is triggered when Dendro meets Pyro. It engulfs the enemies with a Pyro aura that deals Pyro DoT (damage over time).
Since this reaction deals Pyro damage, attacking inherently Pyro enemies (such as Pyro Slimes in the image below) with Dendro will still trigger Burning, but they will not be affected with the DoT.
Quicken: Electro + Dendro Elemental Reaction
How to Trigger | Dendro + Electro |
Damage Type | N/A |
Damage Multiplier | N/A |
This Dendro Elemental Reaction is triggered when Dendro meets Electro. However, this one is interesting as it deals no damage on its own. Instead, it serves as a debuff that sets you to trigger other Elemental Reactions including Spread and Aggravate.
Spread: Quicken + Dendro Elemental Reaction
How to Trigger | Quicken + Dendro |
Damage Type | Dendro |
Damage Multiplier | 1.25x |
After affecting enemies with Quicken, you can hit them with a Dendro attack to trigger Spread. Interestingly, Spread doesn’t simply amplify the Dendro damage type. Instead, it adds a flat DMG bonus to a Dendro attack.
Moreover, this Dendro Elemental Reaction can crit for extra damage.
Aggravate: Quicken + Electro Elemental Reaction
How to Trigger | Quicken + Electro |
Damage Type | Electro |
Damage Multiplier | 1.15x |
Similar to Spread, you can trigger Aggravate only after hitting enemies affected with Quicken. However, this time, you will need to attack them with Electro.
The mechanic for Aggravate is also similar to Spread as it gives a flat DMG bonus to an Electro attack and can deal Crit. The difference is that Aggravate deals slightly less damage than Spread does.
Bloom: Hydro + Dendro Elemental Reaction
How to Trigger | Dendro + Hydro |
Damage Type | Dendro |
Damage Multiplier | 2x |
When Dendro meets Hydro, Bloom occurs. This Dendro Elemental Reaction is similar in strength to Overloaded in that it has a 2x multiplier. However, its mechanic is different.
Triggering Bloom will cause Dendro Cores to drop near the affected enemy. This is the first phase for other reactions including Hyperbloom and Burgeon. But when left on their own, the Dendro Cores will explode and deal AoE Dendro DMG after approximately six seconds.
It is important to note that the Dendro Cores‘ explosion will also deal damage to the active character within the AoE. However, the damage is not really detrimental.
Hyperbloom: Bloom + Electro Elemental Reaction
How to Trigger | Bloom + Electro |
Damage Type | Dendro |
Damage Multiplier | 3x |
You can trigger Hyperbloom when you attack Bloom-generated Dendro Cores with Electro. This reaction has a whopping damage multiplier of 3x and deals single-target Dendro DMG.
Burgeon: Bloom + Pyro Elemental Reaction
How to Trigger | Bloom + Pyro |
Damage Type | Dendro |
Damage Multiplier | 3x |
Burgeon occurs when you attack Bloom-generated Dendro Cores with Pyro. Similar to Hyperbloom, this one has a 3x damage multiplier. However, it deals AoE Dendro DMG instead of single-target.
Having the Dendro element and its different Elemental Reactions will most likely change your combos and gameplay. Which Dendro Elemental Reaction is your favorite?
