If you ever wanted to see an animation based on Genshin Impact, your dream might come true very soon. New images suggest that miHoYo’s been working on the first official anime video for their successful open world mobile game.

These images were courtesy of Ubatcha, and reveal some of the characters in the same artstyle miHoYo uses in their animated shorts for Honkai Impact 3rd. Given how Honkai receives them regularly, it might also become a common thing for Genshin.

Possible Genshin Impact animation images

In these images, we can see the Raiden Shogun looking directly at Aether, the protagonist fiercely confronting Kazuha and, most importantly, the first look at Kamisato Ayato, who’s beside his younger sister.

As previously said, the art style resembles miHoYo’s animations. Ubatcha is also a reliable leaker, so these images have some confidentiality. Other characters will also be present, such as Yae, Kokomi and, of course, Paimon.

Here’s one of Honkai’s animated shorts for comparison. Beware spoilers if you plan on playing the game, though.

When is the animation coming out?

We currently don’t have any other information on release dates. We can guess that the animation will be the featured trailer for Genshin Impact version 2.5, so it might debut in the Special Live Program, which should happen next week.

What about Ayato?

Ayato was expected to be revealed soon, but we couldn’t imagine that it would happen during an animated cutscene. His “drip marketing” should be happening soon, as miHoYo’s been teasing him for a long time by now.

Leaks on Ayato’s skills and playstyle are becoming more prominent, and while we cannot confirm any of them right now, it seems that this will soon change.

Genshin Impact is currently on its 2.4 version, “Fleeting Colors in Flight”, which marks the return of the Lantern Rites event, along with some new and returning characters, a whole new area for exploration, new skins, enemies and many more.

You can play the game for free on mobile devices including Android, iOS, Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and Pc on both miHoYo’s official launcher and Epic Games Store. A Nintendo Switch version is stated to be in development.
