Genshin Impact: Characters found in the open world during Lantern Rite
Genshin Impacts latest event, the Lantern Rite festival in Liyue, features plenty of characters with many appearing in the open world.
Where are the Genshin Impact characters in the open world? – Updated
While I have yet to find every character I suspect is available, I’ve already found quite a few of them.
- Ningaung – Inside the Jade Chamber.
- Ganyu – Next to the teleport beacon of Mt. Aocang – the same Mt. you meet Cloud Retainer during the event
- Xiao – Near the teleport beacon, behind Pervases’ temple
- Yanfei – Yujing Terrace Lookout – Where Rex Lapis’ exuvia fell from the sky near the start of Liyue Story
- Beidou – At the end of the bridge that first enters Liyue Harbor
- Xinyan – With Beidou
- Hu Tao – Outside Wangsheng Funeral Parlor
- Shenhe – At the end of the one of the main piers in the Lantern Rite Festival area
- Xiangling – Wanmin Restaurant, inside.
- Qiqi (and Baizhu) – Look down the ledge from the Qingce village teleport beacon
- Keqing – On the Jade Chamber, following the event quest
- Zhongli – Third Round Knockout, at the same table as during the event quest – He is also unique in that he will roam during the event, so you may simply have to search Liyue for him.
Why does it matter?
A lack of interaction with the cast is one of the issues Genshin does actually suffer from, so when they appear across the world like this it helps the world feel significantly more alive.
Personally, I’d like to just see them placed in the overworld or in rooms (i.e Jeans office) where we can visit them even if they only have a handful of dialogue lines just like in the teapot housing system.
That’s all the characters I’ve bumped into so far though, we can likely expect more to be making appearances in the near future when the next part of the event is launched. In the meantime, if you’d like to read more Genshin Impact content, you can find it in our Genshin section.
If you haven’t tried Genshin Impact yet, you can play the game for free to give it a try on mobile devices including Android and iOS alongside consoles such as Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and Pc on both miHoYo’s official launcher and Epic Games Store. A Nintendo Switch version is stated to be in development.
