Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts are now live as Mecha Ghost mini bosses in Chapter 7 Season 4, so the old pre-update question of whether Blinky and Clyde were only teaser characters is settled. Mecha Ghosts can roam around the Fortnite island, with higher spawn rates at the PAC-MAN themed islands, and defeating them rewards high-tier Mythic loot.
The useful way to hunt Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts is therefore broader than simply dropping into Mega Maze. Mega Maze remains part of the crossover and was the location used for the original chase teaser, but the live event specifically increases Mecha Ghost activity around PAC-MAN Island, BLINKY Island and PINKY Island. Those are the better places to start if your goal is finding a boss rather than revisiting the teaser scene.
Where to find Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts

The Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts can appear around the island, but Bandai Namco says their spawn rate is heightened on the newly added PAC-MAN themed islands. In practical terms, start with PAC-MAN Island, BLINKY Island or PINKY Island when you want to deliberately search for a Mecha Ghost.
That is a meaningful change from the September 14 teaser, which concentrated on Peely being chased through Mega Maze by Blinky and Clyde. The teaser told us where that scene happened. The live rollout tells us the boss activity is island-wide with stronger odds in the PAC-MAN areas.
Do Blinky and Clyde still appear at Mega Maze?
Blinky and Clyde are still part of the Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts crossover, and Mega Maze remains the landmark tied to their original chase sequence. What changed after v42.20 is our understanding of the full spawn system: the Mecha Ghost bosses are not described as Mega Maze-only enemies.
If you are exploring Mega Maze anyway, it is still worth watching for PAC-MAN activity and environmental details. If you are specifically trying to trigger a boss fight quickly, however, the PAC-MAN themed islands are the better confirmed targets because the publisher explicitly calls out their higher spawn rates.
What do Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts drop?
Defeating Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts can reward high-tier Mythic loot. That is the confirmed reward language from the current crossover rollout. There is no reliable public fixed table that says every Mecha Ghost always drops one specific named weapon, so we are not turning a general Mythic loot confirmation into a fake guaranteed drop.
The safest approach is to treat each Ghost as a high-value mini boss encounter. Prepare for other players to contest the fight around the themed islands, especially while the crossover is fresh and those locations are attracting people hunting both the bosses and the PAC-MAN Easter eggs.
How to fight the Mecha Ghosts
The Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts are mini bosses rather than harmless map props. Approach the encounter with enough ammo, healing and room to disengage if another squad arrives. Since the current announcement focuses on spawn locations and high-tier loot rather than publishing a fixed health value or damage table, those exact combat numbers should be taken from the live build rather than guessed from the original arcade games.
Do not assume contact works like classic PAC-MAN, where touching a Ghost is an instant loss. Fortnite adapts crossover enemies to Battle Royale combat rules, and the important confirmed point is that these are enemies you can defeat for loot.
What is the PAC-MAN Sprite?
The Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts update also includes a separate PAC-MAN Sprite companion based on Blinky from PAC-MAN: Snack Breaks. Players can unlock the Sprite by following instructions through the in-game Cheat Panel.
The Sprite has an actual gameplay passive. When its player takes damage, it can cloak them and provide temporary invincibility. That makes it completely different from the upcoming PAC-MAN Sidekick in the Item Shop, which is a cosmetic companion with an emote, music and sound effects.
How long are the Mecha Ghosts available?
The Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts and PAC-MAN Sprites are scheduled to remain in Fortnite through October 31, 2026. That is much longer than the limited PAC-MAN Item Shop run, which Bandai Namco lists from September 19 through September 25.
If your only interest is hunting the mini bosses, there is no need to treat the September 25 shop deadline as the end of the gameplay event. The bosses and Sprites continue after the cosmetics leave the featured PAC-MAN shop window.
Best places to start your Ghost hunt
- PAC-MAN Island, because the live announcement says themed islands have heightened Mecha Ghost spawn rates.
- BLINKY Island, another named PAC-MAN area included in the higher-spawn group.
- PINKY Island, which is also part of the themed island set.
- Mega Maze if you want to revisit the Blinky and Clyde teaser location, although the live bosses are not limited to the maze.
The Fortnite Pac-Man Ghosts guide is now much more useful than it was before the update. You can hunt across the island, prioritise the PAC-MAN locations for better spawn chances, and expect high-tier Mythic loot when you win the fight. We will keep the exact named drop details separate unless the live game or Epic publishes a dependable fixed table.
